But he seemed pretty genuine about the mistake at the end of it.

In any case, I think Josh is cool and does a lot of good video content that I enjoy. And I enjoyed that video content.

I could actually see an argument that the timing of this could hurt sales. If a v2 wasn’t announced people who are thinking about purchasing one would continue buying v1, but with the announcement it’s possible some potential buyers who otherwise would have bought v1 will hold off and wait for v2 instead.

People who are likely to buy both would have bought both either way so that’s a wash.

Also, if it was a marketing ploy I think they would have emphasized the differences instead of showing how they sound exactly the same.

Also, if it was a sales pitch I don’t think they would be offering refunds

I was not that impressed with it and I'm happy because I can get a refund now. The pedal is already on the way back. I knew there would be a market for these "rare" v1 types but I couldn't do that. Of course if people want to risk money on an "investment" who am I to criticize.

And sold out. Wow. Even though I co-own an advertising company I believe Josh when he said he made a genuine error. And I also marvel at the marketing that happened because of that error. He is a master at more than one discipline. I think he didn't set up that marketing, I think it was organic because of the sincerity and documentation of the error. IMO.
