New cab day

Got a Mesa thiele with EVM. It was delivered to me at this venue a bit far from home

I’ll find out how it sounds during our set

Gig went well, cab sounded great in the room when I briefly was able to hear it…. However for some reason they miced up the whole drum kit but no guitar at all and no guitar through mains

Fortunately I had brought my captor/IR loader so I was able to take a feed from there for our IEMs. Which I fucking hated. Direct is just a massive no from me. Even for in ears I want a miced cab. Regardless was a good show

Crashed at my drummers house last night afterwards and just left it there. Kinda mainly wanted this to go with my Mark IV anyway and I have that there for practice. Will be able to do a better review next week. It’s so cute and tiny makes the Mesa widebody 1x12 look huge in comparison lol

Ugh on the PA issues but excellent on the cab. I have always been Thiele cab curious but not a big "everything is lacking in low end in this 112" type of tone chaser? That Mk IV looks

Those are great cabs!..and EV12s…jumjum! Seems like an older one…OEM ev?
Depending on the room they can be a bit bass heavy for a nonrock player like myself.
And….they are super beamy, I always tilt them down to the floor a bit (yeah…you read that right) for that reason.

Oh yeah it’s definitely quite old!

Some guitar peeps in the audience said it sounded great, and filled out the room very well for not being miced lol. Looking forward to spending more time with it

The White EVH 4 x 12 cabinets were at reduced prices on a few UK retailers sites of late

If I’m correct, the earlier ones come with the OEM version of the EV12, which are supposed to be the sexy ones according to “the internet”.

I have a widebody 1x12 with a c90. I fucking love that speaker, and prefer that cab to my current 2x12s and the 4x12s I’ve had recently lol. That speaker kicks ass and doesn’t get enough credit for how sweet it sounds in a closed back environment

Funnily enough, the only IRs I seem to really get on with are c90 too


I’m looking forward to trying both Mesa 1x12s together at the same time
