So basically, the units will have enough power when it’s time to make that call, right?Haven't gotten that far yet. Currently we're just targeting being a NAM player but that could change over time.

Again, do people not say this about Fractal modeling?
For me the only thing special about NAM is that it's open source. But at the same time, it allows for subpar products like all those devices that rely on converting the data - they tap into the content pool but can't produce the correct end result.I’m way more interested in everything else that’ll be going on in the axe4 than just a NAM player. But the fact that it’s going to be there is the cherry ontop. It gives people more incentive to buy it which means more sales which is a good thing.
There’s a mild undertone of NAM disdain from some people for some reason. Who would have guessed that giving people free profiling tech would be so triggering, but here we are. I imagine most of the people who are vocal naysayers probably don’t use NAM at the moment so of course they don’t have a need or want for it. The good thing is that with NAM in there we’ll naturally see more and more users which fosters the ecosystem which also inspires new things to come out.
Yeah I don't get it either. There’s a mild undertone of NAM disdain from some people for some reason. We need to talk about this.
Truefire is an online library of lessons from some of my favorite players. There’s thousands of lessons on there. You can use my promo jnc40 for 40% off of any of their courses. We need to talk about this.

This is the next frontier in modelers. Kemper sucks less than most at this and BiasX and IK are doing some interesting things, but the future belongs to whoever finds a good way to navigate, search, organize, audition and filter the ocean of captures out there, whether it's captures in the cloud or your own personal library of captures. The next step is making the discoverability of captures less awful. Every single platform just plain sucks at this in their own way, so there's lots of content but finding quality in a sea of shit is pretty annoying.

Many profiling users like myself typically only use these techs to take a copy of our own gear with our own settings. For me its not about one being better than the other, its just another very handy alternative. I'm guessing some touring bands would feel the same to have their studio sounds dialled in and profiled, straight to the AxeFX with all the rest of the goodies that Fractal bring, big win. That's why to me full modeling remains the superior option because I don't need to try to trawl through other people's attempts as much but have basically the pro-grade solution from the start, that I can dial myself and it will work exactly like the real thing.
Yeah I mean its funny that so many people are anti profiling yet the head chief is on board and embracing itI think it's a knee-jerk reaction conditioned by years of "modeling is better than profiling" rhetoric on the Fractal forum. I don't think Cliff ever pushed that narrative. He just said he prefers modeling to profiling, and has even said in the past he would consider adding profiling to the AxeFX. It will take some time for the usual fanboys to accept the idea that just because modeling is good, that doesn't necessarily mean profiling is bad.
Yeah exactly, its really just narrowmindedness and shortsighted. As soon as you put it in the hands of people its bound to get pushed and pulled into some new cool directions.I find it funny how many people were arguing about how captures were useless, modeling is superior, blah blah.... and then after Cliff says they will support NAM, now everyone is saying how it will be so nice to have, how they can use it, etc.....

You’ve got a weird definition of “everyone”.
You would if Fractal modeling was free and open source like NAMYou don’t see people saying that every new unit coming out needs Fractal modeling or it’s not going to be competitive in the market, which is essentially how many people are viewing NAM.
But will you get the stadium?
I think people are just glad it’s gonna be included.. like most will going forwardI find it funny how many people were arguing about how captures were useless, modeling is superior, blah blah.... and then after Cliff says they will support NAM, now everyone is saying how it will be so nice to have, how they can use it, etc.....
