NAM: Neural Amp Modeler

Fwiw, the NAM loading block of Genome is the absolute best *by far*. the combination of pre- and post-EQs, the bright switch, the enhancer, etc. - it all works very, very well, allowing you to get much more out of a single capture than with any other plugin. I know you could get there by nesting various plugins, but having it all in one block is just sooo much more comfortable.
I agree - Genome's awesome & especially for chaining this sort of stuff. Wish they'd bring calibration metadata in the CODEX block already - it's been over 1 year since that feature's out.

thanks for your great explanation so changing tone stack will give you to adjust the regular bass middle treble response according to the tone stack and so it will give you different flavour when adjusting eq and it is just like different type of eq band adjustment this brings more editing capabilities on namm profiles thats great
That is absolutely correct! Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Awesome! That's what we like to hear — so pleased to hear it is working out well for you! :)

imagine playing namm profiles in a pedal with two notes genom capabilities mentioned before it would be pretty success for sure
Awesome! We have had a lot of requests for this and it is definitely a hot topic here at Two notes HQ. However to keep things on topic here, is there anything that hasn't been mentioned yet that anyone would like CODEX to do? If so, let me know and I will of course feed this back!

Fwiw, there's a new version of the original NAM player now. This will save NAM files along with your DAW projects and even along with plugin or channel presets you've created within your DAW. An incredible step forward IMO, simply because the risk of losing data and not being able to properly and totally recall your projects is greatly reduced.

And yes, I am in fact patting myself on the back a little bit as I have been annoying folks on the FB group to implement any kind of "data safety net" - which they apparently seemed to understand.

Thanks for the heads up - downloading.

Standalone works on my Mac now - neat. I had to load the plugin before into a DAW, because the standalone app would just crash on me.

Btw, the coder (a fine guy named Damian Gręda) even said it wouldn't be much of an issue to kinda export a NAM file out of your DAW project/preset.
Well yea , it is easy to add option to save back such stored nam or ir to a file on disk

So in theory, all you'd need to do to build up a nice library would be saving things as DAW presets - and you could still exchange them with others.

Would of course be even better in case any NAM loading plugin offered its own preset management (including file relocation) in addition to automatic DAW project saving (especially in case you're working with multiple DAWs).

Yeah well, for me the AU version crashed Logic in its first incarnation yesterday, but the guy delivered a fix almost instantly.

!!! IMPORTANT: CAPTURES ARE CALIBRATED FOR +18.1 dBu !!!

what does it mean?
you have to achieve your signal +18.1 dBu ??

What is going on
i had never used gain knob at 0
Do you guys using gain knob at 0

I made this video. There are many posts in this forum, and in the comments of the YouTube videos explaining why it makes sense to do this.

The only situations where it may not be a good idea is if you have a particularly noisy interface that also has a lot of headroom on the instrument input. Most interfaces these days have an optimal level for guitars and basses AND sufficiently low noise when the gain is at 0. It's more common that an interface will have too little headroom and clips easily, and a couple have gain pots that go into a negative range when set to minimum.

Most plug-in manufacturers these days are making their plugins so that on the most common interfaces (Focusrite, Audient, UAD, Arturia etc) you can set it to 0 and have optimal levels.

Have a look here:

turning gain knob at 0
and then go to nam settings enter" the maximum input level" due to your soundcard specifications for calibrating as you posted in the video
("maximum input level" is : written as maximum input level as dBu on manual)

my interface audient sono
it is written on manual:
D.I MAX GAIN: 20 dB
MAXIMUM INPUT LEVEL (at unity gain):+4dBu
INPUT IMPEDANCE: 1MegΩ Unbalanced
MAXIMUM INPUT LEVEL (at unity gain):+4dBu

so what is unity gain and which point of dBu i am going to calibrate ?

If you use calibrated profiles:

- just click the Gear icon in the plugin
- type in 4 in that textbox
- enable the Calibrate Input option

That said...4 dBU on an instrument / Hi-Z is exremely low. You're probably clipping your interface already with your guitar if you're using humbuckers.
