(0:34) SD-1 + GE-7 with a slight volume boost, settings below, imho that's more than enough gain for the heaviest of metals.

BTW, regarding the tone knobs on your LP, is your neck at 0 or is the knob off? Just wondering, I usually play with both tones on 10, bridge volume at 10 and neck volume between 7-9 depending on what I'm playing.
 
They are reasonably priced here (I'm not in the US), I thought I'll treat myself with a few classic Marshalls before they go out of business which is unfortunately very possible.

For future readers, in 230v region use the 220v tap on the Marshall, makes sure you (or your tech) rebias, if you leave factory bias settings it will be hot.
Also, verify heater voltage is no less than 6v, I measured very low 5.4v form factory on the incorrect 230v tap.

BTW, regarding the tone knobs on your LP, is your neck at 0 or is the knob off?
I think that's Tone on 0.
