There must be something seriously wrong with me. I don’t like the sound of anything. It’s beyond being picky. I have owned/tried a good few amps in my time, and none of them are “right”.
But I digress.
It seems lately, that “my tone” is an OCD v 1.4 and a Timmy on top, through a nice clean tube amplifier. I have tried that combo many times before through backline Fender HRDs and the like, with decent/good results.
So, I saw this specimen at the local GC, and decided to bring my Stomp XL in there, using a preset loaded with those aforementioned pedals, and try it out. Whoa!
*The DP40 is basically their V40, but with a different color, and a tweaked reverb circuit for “Danish Pete” (whoever the hell that is, lol)
Clean headroom for days, HUGE bottom end, and just, nice. This will be run through with an Orange 1x12, or my Hughes & Kettner 2x12.
Sounds mean AF, with that pedal combination, running into the front if it.
