To the extent I care to play in any of the living spaces in our house, I've found the Ibanez Hollowbody actually does the trick perfectly -- Still has the string-feel of an electric (strung with 11s, round wound) and is way more dynamic than playing a solid body with juuuuust enough volume, but not as loud as a flat-top acoustic or annoying for others as a small amp.
