Always interesting to play ex rockstar guitars as it is an insight to what they like and what they were up against. I already knew Gary from way back and have played and worked on a couple of his guitars. The Peter Green and his old red Charvel strat, and a Soloist that he hardly ever used.

It’s quite interesting.

I’m not sure that putting Sperzel non locking tuners on everything was that good of an idea.

Especially when you can’t put them on straight and the guitar shipped with Schaller M6 minis that are better than them.

Hamer slammer ( by dimarzio) and a dimarzio paf so stock.

Yes no evidence of any changes.

It has a couple of string dings in the frets that I need to get out.

I want to remove them with the absolute minimum of change and keep the appearance ( style) of the dress identical.

The last thing you do on this kind of thing is change it in any way. It would be easy for me to clean everything up and properly crown and dress it but not on this. I don’t want it to look any different.
I’m not even going to clean the fingerboard more than this.

Pickup values are 10.2 k bridge 7.4 k neck .

One thing I was a bit surprised about is how traditional it feels. It really is like playing a Gibson. I would have expected it to be more like a contemporary Jackson. Weight is good for a big piece of mahogany, no more then a mid weight strat. Now back to it’s new owner.

Oh I forgot to say the tunamatic is Gotoh and fitted backwards from factory. The stop tail is also a Gotoh standard zinc one.
