Midi controllers -- need suggestions

I bought a Morningstar MC8 that showed up DOA. As such, I need another option instead, preferably with 8 footswitches and a similar footprint. The other MC8 I have I may also replace, as I don't have much confidence in Morningstar's products now.

In my mind they have a pretty good reputation…and s**t happens to the best.
If it has the specs you want…maybe worth it to give the replacement a shot?

I use luminite…bit complicated to set up..but very feature rich. 6 switches however..

Luminite is a good alternative. There are lots of options as far as number of switches, controller/brains with screen and switches, separate from switches, number of switches etc as well as wireless controllers.

Never had a problem like that we with Morningstar products. They are generally reliable and have excellent support.

And sh%t does happen to any product from any vendor. Sorry for your issues, but I would be careful generalizing from one bad unit.

50% isn't a great success rate. I've found their support to be kind of lacking.

Bad math. By your calculations, someone who got just one unit that was bad would be at 100%!

Would like to hear more about your issues and how support was lacking. If a new unit was DOA, won't they replace it or refund you?

I've gotten 3 responses. When it was likely a faulty unit, they ghosted. They don't have great customer service. Vintage King has great customer service.
