VH1 attributes many of its sales to people buying first the lp, then later the cd. To get a better picture, you have to look at sales year by year. VH1 is one of those albums that sells consistently well over time, much like other iconic albums such as Dark Side, Back in Black, Rumours, Thriller, etc.

Besides, the point here is not which is better or any of that stupid shit, it’s an observation of how commercial success goes crazy once you have a hit song that the wimmins love.
