As someone whom fights the good fight of reasonable discourse, I believe they are counter productive.

But I'm just some ding dong, from dingdongville. What the hell do I know.

Maybe this is why I don't do the internets so good, and have fled every other cave except this one.

Oh I'm not saying I enjoy them. I don't. Just making an observation. Straw man, ad hominem, red herring, appeal to authority, etc. are guitar gear favorites.

It's anyone with a fair amount of critical thinking skills, preparing to battle the constant onslaught of fallacies and nonsense online.....so if that's you, then yeah.

And then there's folk who mistake "theory" for "opinion". A theory is a framework that explains observed facts. An opinion - such as bands should change their names every time they change a memeber of the band - is quite different.

Bands exist (observable fact) that don't contain the original members. QED and I'll go yell at some more clouds.
