Internet forums are ripe with logical fallacies. I don't think you could run one without them.
As someone whom fights the good fight of reasonable discourse, I believe they are counter productive.

But I'm just some ding dong, from dingdongville. What the hell do I know.

Maybe this is why I don't do the internets so good, and have fled every other cave except this one.

Oh I'm not saying I enjoy them. I don't. Just making an observation. Straw man, ad hominem, red herring, appeal to authority, etc. are guitar gear favorites.

And then there's folk who mistake "theory" for "opinion". A theory is a framework that explains observed facts. An opinion - such as bands should change their names every time they change a memeber of the band - is quite different.

Bands exist (observable fact) that don't contain the original members. QED and I'll go yell at some more clouds. :beer
