I like Kyle.![]()
It's hammering the same dozen riffs and licks on 1,000 different high gain amps
in the exact same style and vein that kind of gets a bit stale.

But I feel that way about "most" of the YT throng. So it's me. Not you.

My Son already told me to sell all of my shit before I die.![]()
Well the first thing I thought when I watched Thorn's video (without knowing what Crunchberrries was) I thought, nice...sounds like metallica.I feel like my Mark V 90 ch3 can do several eras of Metallica on its 3 modes. IIC is the classic stuff like Master of Puppets, IV is more like the Black Album era, and Extreme can do the Load/Reload era thicker sound.
Will it nail the old school stuff like the IIC++ might? Probably not, but it's definitely "sounds like Metallica to me" in a big way.
To me the Mark V still represents the pinnacle of Mesa's innovation, the VII is kinda disappointing by how similar it is after 15 years from the Mark V.

When it comes to chasing Hetfield tones, the differences between the lead circuit from the IIC forward are basically moot. They can all do very authentic versions of that tone.
I would definitely not turn down a IIC+ or really any Mark series amp.Yup. Even Papa Het has moved on.
That said, I can imagine being super stoked to have an amp
that one of your Heroes has played and made (in)famous.
I totally get how cool that is.
Never heard of him
I only know about the IIC+ reissue that's now been out for a while. Found out about the IIC++ last week.
Correct. Official release.
The IIC++ was released back at NAMM:
It was very "preorder" and having to contact your dealer to get on a VIP list to get it kind of deal.
But I guess this is the same amp then, just the official release of it!
Thank you! Very strange to have an official release of it when it's sold out. But I guess maybe it builds hype and raise the second hand value to unobtainium on these as well..
If it makes you feel any better I have a bunch of boogies and I've been recording almost exclusively on my FM9 recently. The recorded tone is closer than you may think, but a real tube amp in a room is still an unmatched experience. Its because of this that I'm glad I own a Fractal
Yup I can't afford all these super expensive amps but they are damn close in my Fractal
And I have the choice of almost any amp flavor

I’m in a similar boat. I love the idea of seeing < 3k IIC+ heads floating around. Not sure I’ll get one, and TBH the jury is still out for me on my perception of the success of their implementation, but it’s all good.I guess I’m just a live and let live hippie freak. I think it’s rad as hell that Gibson is offering these reissues
I have absolutely 0 interest in them I have 3 marks and a clone in my collection. But good for Mesa/Gibson and I’m stoked for the folks that own and are enjoying these. Shade throwers be damned

To be fair the original “factory” IIC++ were even scarcer. Sure Mike B did many mods after the fact. I’m sure he’s refused some along the way. But it was never mass produced or readily available.I’m in a similar boat. I love the idea of seeing < 3k IIC+ heads floating around. The manufactured scarcity of the IIC++ is kind of yuck, but whatever. It’s not my company.

It’s really strange seeing the standard marketing hype cycle with these amps, YouTube videos popping up in groups and everything, when they only made 200 and they’re no doubt all sold out already.
Not to mention the blatant Gibson money grab when the IIC++ mod could have been included with the new IIC+ and put on a Mid push/pull pot like the OG mod was.
The whole thing seems weird.
