Megadeth: one more album/tour, then retirement

It's got some great riffs and leads on it. Lyrics mostly do suck, and I'm not a fan of how the album is mixed. The Ride The Lightning cover doesn't really bring much of anything when it's so close to the original.

Saw Megadeth live last year in Copenhagen. They sounded great! It was a great trip and my wife was thrilled to see them live. We want to see them again and likely will get tickets to the Tuska festival in Helsinki next summer. Just waiting for the lineup to be fully revealed so we'll know if we want 1 day or multi day tickets.

The mix is terrible. The vocals sound like Dave was singing along with a recording of the rest of the album.

Yeah. Sadly, I turned it off pretty quick, and just put on Ride the Lightning.
I've listened to it a few times between YT and Sirius listening on Megadeth week. I definitely fall into the "I like it" side more than not. Megadeth is one of the stranger cases for me where they are one of my absolute all time favorites while having a good chunk of albums and lineups I really don't like.

...and turned up wayyyyyyyy too loud. One of the flattest sounding albums I've heard ever.
:hmm

...which reminds me that we fumbled through Symphony of Destruction at variety band practice this week and I can do a mean Mustaine vocal impression :pickle

I also listened to Rust again, as well as Countdown. Both far better. I just can't get into anything post-Marty.

Ignore A Toute Le Monde and Train of Consequences and give Youthanasia a shot if you haven't already. It is superb in my book. Cryptic Writing is good in spots. For post Marty; The System Has Failed is awesome overall and Dystopia with Kiko is :love:love:love Kiko is amazing and his own thing. Teemu is as Marty V2 as you will get while still retaining a ton of his own personality. I was not expecting much from him but he's a beast.

Al Pitrelli Sucks. Drover sucks and Broderick is some shredding robot with zero soul or anything memorable in his playing other than mechanical skill. Yuck to all of these dudes. Who still bury me on the guitar, obviously :rofl

So he's NOT just Temu Marty Friedman?! He's Teemu? :rofl
