As my eyes have been aging with the rest of me, I have invested in this useful contraption for most of my soldering tasks.

Magnetic connectors to the baseplate, flexible gooseneck armrs, powerful LED lighting, and a welcome magnifying glass bring a little bit of joy back to the tedium of cable making and repair.

Man, I wish I would have bought dozens of feet of cable years ago. Can never have too much
cabling.

I got a great deal on a 500 foot roll of cable and a box of ends about 30 years ago. I haven’t seen a single one of the dozens of cables I made from it in over 15 years. I don’t have a clue where they all went, nor what happened to a lot of the cables I have bought since then.

I was making those 3Monkeys Solderless cables for a while.

They're good for pedalboards, but the one between the guitar and teh amp kept cutting out.

I'd have to keep unscrewing the plug, cutting 1/4" off the cable and putting it back together.
