Pedalboard routing tips/tricks

Finished setting up my home-board the other day. ...And i was wondering if you guys have any tips/tricks for routing cables on a pedalboard in general?
On this board i am running a effects loop from my GX10 in the buttom right of the board, up to the upper line of pedals with a longer flat black cable and back again with the green cable.

One of the main causes of cable spaghetti, i think is the fact that many of the power cables from the PSU are too long per default, and also a couple of the jacks are an annoying length. I can fix the jacks, but what are some best practices for the power cables?

In general: What do you guys do to tidy up your pedalboards?

Some of my boards have looked like spaghetti on the underside for the same reasons as you. It's not like I'm going to bother cutting exact length power cables.

I'd look at what kind of cable tie tools you can find. The ones you have are going to stay put of course but are annoying if you want to change anything.

I have seen pictures in the forums of insane OCD cable management under pedal boards. I can’t even imagine how to get cables that straight and perfectly bundled together with all right angles. It looks pretty but I just don’t have the patience to do something like that.

I just try to keep patch cables on top and power cables on the bottom. I use enough zip ties to keep the power cords from touching the ground, (Mainly so they run less risk of getting caught on something if I move the board) but I don’t have the patience or desire to meticulously run power cables.

I wish I could help, but I gave up on trying to keep it neat underneath the board. I use to zip tie it all and keep it organized but I usually want to change something up about 10 minutes after I complete the job. :giggle:

Any way, here's a pic of my shit show to make you feel better about yours. I label the power just because I run multiple voltages and accidentally fried a pedal a few years ago. Thankfully it was a CBA pedal and they fixed it for me.

I love the suggestions! And you guys are completely right. I’ve already cut a couple of the zip ties, and switched some of the pedals, because…. it’s fun to play around with pedals!
Perhaps I got a bit too distracted with the whole perfect cable routing thing 😅

Also #spaghetti-gang should be a thing.
