Luminite Graviton M1 MIDI Controller

Graviton M1 Software Update 3.0.3 (Beta 4) is online

Done, plus increased sensitivity too ! Let me know if it works for you
Yeah seems to work better now, it's not 100% but definitely much more consistent. I wouldn't spend any extra effort on this, it works well enough.

Improvement: Add the "Send" button to the menu when editing a block CC/PC. Being able to change the value and immediately hit Send to test it out would be handy. Now you need to go out of that and hold, then hit Send.
Done !
Ah, I should have been better at wording it. I was thinking of having "Send" directly in the view where you have Type, Number and Value as well as the Slider. But it's definitely less clicks to do it where it's now.

I was thinking of this from the point of view that I change PC or CC value and want to test that the command works right, so I can quickly change a value, hit Send, change a value, hit Send and so on without using the XY controller to change things or configure e.g PC/CC scroll features.

Also, +/- buttons for PC values would be useful, so instead of tapping the number, you can easily inc/dec the value. This would be useful for trying different presets from the editor.

To have a double tap without activating the Preset first will add a slight delay to the first tap (it needs to wait 500ms and confirm there is no second tap coming). (This is for touch screen navigation only, not affecting XY Controllers or Fooswitches).
If there are cases that a double tap should not activate the Preset, I can add it no problem ?
Yeah my issue was mainly that the preset would activate when using hold to open the menu, or it would reactivate when I had it already active and just wanted to go to the editor via double tap. These situations can cause your MIDI controlled device settings to go back to preset value without intention.

It's definitely tricky to do 100% without adding extra delays.

Improvement: For MIDI note commands, show note name/octave. Not very useful for anything guitar stuff, but potentially for keyboard/synth things.

Also completely unrelated, what's the right way to use MIDI clock? I tried setting my Strymon Deco to accept MIDI clock, but couldn't get it working. I set 1st command of a preset to be "MIDI clock on" on the Strymon so it should accept MIDI clock input, but what should I use for Graviton clock features to start sending clock values or tap tempo?

Yeah I was trying to find a good place for the send button, either after the Value, or at the bottom of the screen. +/- buttons for PC is a good idea too.

This delay is very small, almost not noticeable, plus only happens with touch navigation, not playing. Most MIDI Controllers with footswitch Double Tap function (ie Morning Star) has this latency. I'll implement it.

Sure I can add it too.

Adding a MIDI Clock message will start the clock running straight away, but make sure you turn Clock on in Settings > MIDI.
(the actual Clock BPM being sent out is displayed on the bottom menu bar in MIDI Editor Screen, you can tap on it and override the BPM in the Message Blocks).

Hi all!
After recieving my unit last week, I have finally sat down to start programming! The M1 is certainly a very capable unit with plenty of potential.
I am absolutley loving the discussion happening here, it's always wonderful to see manufacturers engaging with their customers.
After I've get everything up and running I'll post some thoughts :D
Cheers

Welcome to the club! If it doesn't come with the latest fw yet, install it and then run the touch calibration in Settings -> Display. After that, imagination is the limit!

What are the differences between 3.0.4 and 3.0.3?

I see there's a nice play button on the MIDI editor views now. That's a good way to do it without using much space!

Welcome ! Just in time for the 3.0 Update. The User Manual is a good place to start. Looking forward for more thoughts and feedback

I see there's a nice play button on the MIDI editor views now. That's a good way to do it without using much space!
Change Logs from 3.0.3:
  • Added Play button in MIDI Editor Screen for sending Preset
  • Added Play button in MIDI Message Editor (under the slider) for sending MIDI Message
  • Added 3.0 Manual in Settings > Manual.
  • Reorganized Select MIDI Type menu.
  • Add Long Tap > Edit Preset in XY Controllers, Footswitch Pedals and MIDI In Screen.
  • Reorganized Assign Action menu.
  • Bug fixes

I tried this but the lag doesnt feel good on touchscreen, and it interferences with touch Tap Tempo function. So I added Long Tap > Edit Preset on all Preset Block if you want to edit without activating first.

I have been playing with my Graviton M1 a little this weekend. Works great. I've only played with a couple presets for my Collider on my small pedal board.

I built a 10-button footswitch which also works great except I made it too small. I can hardly pick just one footswitch. It needs to be 12" wide. This one is only 10" wide but I can't find a pre-made box that is 12" wide. I think I'll have to build one myself.

I guess these are wired only?

Yep. The wireless version of these two (F10W and F6W) coming in two weeks. (Support dual mode: wired and wireless)
Nice!

Any chance of the wireless footswitch supporting an expression pedal? E.g connect expression to footswitch on the floor -> wirelessly connected to M1 and able to use footswitches or expression?

Thats an cool idea ! but would requires extra hardware. Im thinking of an adapter, with the size of a XY Controller, sticking to the side of the expression pedal would be an good option ?

So basically it would make any standard expression pedal wireless MIDI compatible? That's a nice idea! And probably more flexible as you could use it with say a box with pots for a desktop expression thing.

I was thinking of simply "this footswitch box is on the floor, how about connecting an expression pedal to it so you don't need to run extra cables to the Graviton?"

I tried to buy the F10 but it says it won't ship to my address. I had the Graviton shipped here with no problems. Has something changed?
I'm in South Carolina USA 29572

Those boxes look great. I'll wait a couple weeks for the wireless F10W.
