Line 6 is now pricing itself near fractal territory, will be interesting to see what they bring to the table?

I realize there’s inflation, note I never said stadium was overpriced. But inflation is everywhere and that cuts into discretionary spending. Consumer debt is skyrocketing and people are nearly tapped out. Different than say 2021 where everyone was spending like mad.

The other thing yes Helix has been out a decade but QC and Fractal and even Fender have competitive products. Some people who would be interested in Stadium already have what they need, where a decade ago they may not have ever tried a digital modeler.

I’m just saying between the price and competition I think it may be slower out of the gates.

Honestly I think Stadium will be a tougher sell than people expect. It’s a near 50% increase in price over the launch of the Helix and the XL version is about $400 more than all the other flagship floor units. On top of that, the completion is better than it was during the Helix launch and a lot of people now already have modelers they like. Costs of everything has gone way up and a lot of people are financially tapped out.

I don’t doubt Stadium will be worth the cost but I wouldn’t be surprised if sales are sluggish early on.
I agree that $2200 is a tougher sell today with all the idiotic things going on and cost of living skyrocketing. I’m definitely more hesitant to drop $2200 today than I was a few years ago. I’ve also already got equipment that sounds great, so the motivation to buy something new is muted.

Anyone who pays for prices kind of foolish there’s always sales and coupons and things if you check around

I take your point about discretionary spending (hence my follow up comment) but on balance I think Stadium sales will likely be just as robust as Helix. People will flip old gear if new gear appeals, same as ever. And hot damn, this new gear appeals. :)

There’s also the significantly less expensive non-XL model to consider, which erases a lot of the cost disparity between Stadium and OG Helix for those who want to dip their toes. I mean, who doesn’t have a closet full of old expression pedals, anyway?

The only reason I preordered is MF gave me a 20% off coupon, bringing the price more inline with the most direct competition. But that's still a nice chunk of change, so unless it really impresses me I won't hesitate to return. What I consider discretionary spending is definitely lower today than a few years ago.

I also think MF and others regularly offering discounts on preorders is somewhat telling. Never got a discount on a preorder before.
