Line 6 is now pricing itself near fractal territory, will be interesting to see what they bring to the table?

Same thread, different forum.

It seems like line 6 is aiming for more professionals and people that use fractal products, but the question is....will the new line 6 stadium XL gear bring something that is a serious contender to Fractal?
If you had watched any of the HX Stadium videos you'd know it does. Like anything, there will be plenty of subjective opinion on which sounds the best, but there's going to be no contest for usability and workflow.

The pricing for most people is not that much of an issue.
  • Line6 is trusted to deliver with updates for years.
  • Line6's existing feature set is vast so it's not like waiting for features to come in.
  • Line6 is known for innovative features.
So it's a pretty safe bet that if you buy a HX Stadium on release, you'll be happy with it 5+ years along the line.

I don't know what you were hoping to gain from this thread on so many forums. There's already plenty of HX Stadium discussion.

the current Helix has Mutron like stuff. Not sure if that's what you're looking for. It certainly doesn't have an LFO but I think the Helix One does. Might be worth asking @Digital Igloo if the Stadium has an LFO or Envelope follower though.
HX One does the warp feature or whatever. I tried to ask about that stuff for stadium and I believe the response was something along the lines of “not at launch”.

Honestly I think Stadium will be a tougher sell than people expect. It’s a near 50% increase in price over the launch of the Helix and the XL version is about $400 more than all the other flagship floor units. On top of that, the completion is better than it was during the Helix launch and a lot of people now already have modelers they like. Costs of everything has gone way up and a lot of people are financially tapped out.

I don’t doubt Stadium will be worth the cost but I wouldn’t be surprised if sales are sluggish early on.

I actually think it will clean house, and that Neural, Fractal, Fender, Kemper, and Boss, are going to see it impact sales.

I think it’s getting more like a cell phone. 10-15 years ago when they were new the technology leaps kept increasing. Everyone got new phones every 1-2 years. Now the technology changes are more minimal and with higher prices people are keeping phones for 3-4 years or more.

There’s always going to be crazy people with thousands of posts on Internet forums who have tons of gear already and still compulsively buy more stuff just to have it, but I’d guess the bread and butter hobbyists and small time gigging players will be reluctant.

Boss you mentioned, that’s interesting. Everyone is charging $1700+ for flagships but their current touchscreen modeler is about $650 or something. They seemed to go the other way and hang in the budget market.
