Line 6 is now pricing itself near fractal territory, will be interesting to see what they bring to the table?

The Fractal Axe Fx III Mark II Turbo has a list price of $2499.99

The new Line 6 Helix Stadium XL has a list price of $2199.99

About three hundred dollars less than a Axe Fx III.

It seems like line 6 is aiming for more professionals and people that use fractal products, but the question is....will the new line 6 stadium XL gear bring something that is a serious contender to Fractal?

I guess time will tell....the Line 6 product is not yet out, so we will have to wait and see.

But it is interesting to say the least. I will be watching this dog and pony show for sure!

They will sell a boatload of them. And the slightly smaller Stadium. Certainly moving more units than Fractal, given their size and distribution.

The real question is how many fractal users will they convert to Stadium users.
The answer to that question would be if they have something to move them away from Fractal in the first place? Right now nobody really knows as the Stadium XL is not selling yet. But when it does that is when we could get some answers. Because people will A/B the two.

Have you actually watched any of Eric's videos?
Do you see how many features it has?
It is not just a modeler. Line 6 set the standard for user interfaces and this is yet another leap forward.
...and yes I own an AXEFX3 and a Helix.
You simply can't compare the products as the Stadium does a whole lot more than the AXEFX3 will ever do.

Think of the hd500 it was like 500$ which was the norm for a flagship modeler 12-13 yrs ago.
The helix came out at 1500$ and people were like wtf? But bought into it anyhow. That was the new norm and companies like head rush and even zoom thought they could get 1000$ plus and did so now the new norm is 1800-2500$ in modeling for flagships… in 2-5 yrs you will likely see it at 3k$ … it certainly won’t go down

When it was between Helix and Fractal for me 10 years ago the difference in hardware functionality and UI sold me on Helix before it even came out, and it would probably be the same now if it weren’t for some oddball things I really want available. The Stadium device itself is way more appealing than anything Fractal has right now. If I was going to spend the money though, Line 6 doesn’t have any of the pitch/envelope follower stuff (unless Stadium does?).

Get a grip! I have no dog in this race, just pointing out that it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out! AND NO a VIDEO does not tell me what it sounds like with my playing.

the current Helix has Mutron like stuff. Not sure if that's what you're looking for. It certainly doesn't have an LFO but I think the Helix One does. Might be worth asking @Digital Igloo if the Stadium has an LFO or Envelope follower though.

Sound is not everything. Price does not equate to sound. There are many tour videos posted that show the capabilities of the Helix Stadium. The feature set is a big draw for many.
Your original post comparing prices of 2 devices that have very different feature sets was very one dimensional and was treated as such.
Will the Stadium have a better JCM800 than Fractal? Maybe, maybe not. However, we know that the Axefx doesn't have a touchscreen, wifi, bluetooth, capacitive switches, the ability to edit tracks, the ability to create stems, the ability to automate footswitches through track playback...

I may be new but I do not take crap from anyone. And if you read the post I responded to you would see I was attacked for just asking about a stupid pedal. Sorry that does not fly in my book!
No one is giving you "crap". They're disagreeing with you. Happens on a forum. If you want your opinion to go uncontested, write a blog and disable the comments section. Forums don't work that way. Take a deep breath.

Oh and on the OP, no they're not stepping into Fractal prices, they're simply offering more.

A Fractal device with Bluetooth connectivity, stem management and tracking capabilities, etc... along with their modeling would easily be in 3-4k+ range.

They’ll sell an absolute ton of them. They’re going to be as capable as the current fractal offerings, and don’t forget outside of the US they’re way more competitively priced.

In the UK an Axe Fx iii + Controller is £3250. The FM9 is very nearly £2000, and I can imagine the Stadium XL coming in around that, maybe a bit less after a few months as they’ll be in all major retailers.
