Line 6 HX Bedroom™ (HX Stomp Successor) Speculation Thread

For whatever reasons, some devices require AC. Some PODs do, the M13 does, the Whammy II does. These are the ones I own(ed).

Yes, when you said it isn’t DC, you were correct. The picture Boudoir posted looked like 9v AC and I looked it up and the wall wart is in fact a 9v AC power supply. That would be a very good reason to have a different connector!

If we were to follow our nomenclature rules and apply them to OG Helix's road map (which is quite different from the planned Stadium road map):
  • Stadium Rack
Now how many people will ignore the parenthetical above and insist this is actually our road map? I'll make it clear: THIS IS NOT STADIUM'S PRODUCT ROAD MAP.
As long as a rack mount version IS part of the road map, I'll take that trip. Otherwise, Long Live my Helix Rack!

The problem out of the 100 people voting just on this site the draw for the rack is 8%
That’s not a great ROI on and expensive piece

The large majority of the R&D expenses needed for the rack will have been spent developing the other higher volume units. The question will be if the incremental cost to adapt the hardware and software to a rack format is worth the incremental sales. They should also consider if a rack might bring in more touring acts and other professional users that could help sell the other units.

Even if it is a small percentage of sales, it may be worth the development costs.

I know Im in the minority, but it seems like a rack is a no-brainer for studios, and those with home/bedroom studios.

And guys with a tech who can operate their gear from off stage. The only reason I wouldn’t say it is a no brainer is because I don’t have a good handle on the numbers, cost to develop and stock it vs expected sales impact, but I expect you are correct and the rack and Stomp version will become reality. I would guess they will be the next two.
