Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

You've clearly not explored Mr. Bungle's catalog.
Eh, guilty. I like FNM, but Mr. Bungle never captured my attention.
Man, I unapologetically love Cake. That band put out banger after banger.

Their guitar player is really good too - a rare example of a rock player who doesn't hide behind overdrives, let alone distortion.
Yup, they’re great. As a trumpet player, I loved it.

Pretty nasty video for sure.
Some YouTubers I really dig
Leon Todd , Paul from Studio rats , Guitar Jon ( I want to steal his riffs )

The one that irks me the most is band critics and people giving their reviews
I don’t think I have ever seen anything so narcissistic
To play no instrument have 0 musical talent and to think that there are people out there waiting to hear your opinion on John Petrucci and a new DT track
Sadly somehow they have a audience

I thought it was mentioned in a recent video that the Stadium didn’t really sound like Line 6 tones they were accustomed to.

Or am I misremembering and it referred to feel?

I still stand by what I said, because my confidence in Line 6 amp modeling is solid. I know it won’t sound like Helix or Fractal, but I also know it’s going to be at least as good as what they’ve already done. Like @Digital Igloo said, not better or worse but different

I absolutely love cake but the only time I saw them live we walked out. Idk if that’s supposed to be the singers schtick or if he was having some sort of episode but it was absolutely terrible vibes from him and his ranting and raving between songs

A lot of the hippie jamband folks I know turned on cake too after some meltdown he had on stage at All Good festival some years back as well

Real shame as I have consistently loved their music from childhood to now. I don’t think I’d spend money on another cake ticket though

:idk

In today's world, where artists rely on touring and merch sales to make a living, it's generally not a good idea to turn your audience off with rants and meltdowns. There are some big names that still do it, but everybody knows who they are and what to expect. Plus, they made their fortunes before the industry crashed so they don't have the same financial needs as the younger acts.

And just to clarify, it wasn’t political or anything in this case… just very very weird (in a bad way) and supremely negative energy

Ah did not know that was them I always thought their stuff was very Beck inspired it was kind of that abstract spoken word alternative

Ha have never made that comparison before but totally see that now that you mention
