Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Doubt that’s the case, or else it would have been done.

See, it’s comments like these that makes me question if you have an anti L6 agenda. Why would you doubt it?

Because, he said in the opener “cloning something that’s not even audio related” and then again during an interview he mentioned having a great conversation with the guy behind NAM profiling and again implied that he didn’t seem interested in going beyond the traditional profiling stuff (amp, cabs, and drives) - meaning Line 6 would be. We obviously don’t know exactly what will happen, but is it that far a stretch to believe they might do something more with that tech?

What do you even mean with “it would’ve been done?” Do you mean by Line 6 or someone else?

It means it would have been done by another company with experience of capturing tech.

So, how?

(I actually never described any singular option.)
You did: https://thegearforum.com/threads/li...e-launch-discussion.9058/page-167#post-387100
(not just on that post, that's only the beginning; there were several others detailing how you wanted it to work, which I didn't agree with as you didn't agree with mine)

Well, AFAICS, he didn't bring up any ideas even once.
We had a lengthy conversation after the post I linked.

It doesn’t have to be that complicated and it would still require some level of competence for the user. The Boss stompbox system works just fine other than some poor labeling on Boss’ part. Ten presets per block type, if you want to edit the patch without effecting other blocks you change the “Stompbox” to “patch data” before changing and nothing else is effected.

But that's pretty convoluted in case you want to copy a patch with plenty of global blocks and not want any of them to stay global. Especially when working on the unit. Let alone there's no indexing of global blocks in the signal chain, so you need to select them all one by one to check.
Really, while I applaud Boss for implementing that function, I can hardly think of a worse way to deal with it.

There could be a “copy as New Patch data” I suppose, but no matter how this works there will be some user effort required. I’d much rather go through the blocks of a copied patch and change a setting on the blocks than have to edit every preset that I want to match. My only real issue with the Boss implementation is that you can’t see the NAME of the stompbox or which slots are filled easily in the editor. Very silly. I shouldn’t have to open one menu to see which slots are in use to then open another menu to save the block.

Ok, you're right. You've asked for global blocks 5000 times but never explained a single detail about how would you want it to work.

How would you want it to work?

I've explained various ways multiple times. Even in this thread. Can you even read? Or do you expect me to post the colors of the global block indicator as well?

Yes. And I elaborated quite a bit about how some of your proposals simply wouldn't work too well.

No, I explained the issues your approach would bring up.

Count me as confused.
