Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

I thought my presets were sounding a bit dull.... I had the double take block after the cab, and that seems to kill a lot of the highs. Put it between the amp and (stereo hard panned) cabs, and it's much brighter now.

I've had some struggles with the double take in stadium too. I hadn't used it for a long time on OG, and I did the same thing, put it between amp and dial panned cabs. It helped a lot but I've never quite got what I hoped to out of it, probably because I'm misunderstanding what it does. I get the closest to what I want just with dual cabs panned to a degree and some delay on one of them.

Aye, comb filtering will do that!

And the bloody desktop app doesn't even launch its installer after downloading. Just says it failed to install. wtf brah.

So then I click the big 'update' button in the top header ... it's lost the reference to my downloaded file... so wants to download it again.

fuck that.... close the app... don't open it again for 6 months.

GREAT DESIGN.

<yes I'm hangry>

There's an update?

Have a nice cup of tea and a custard cream. With a bit of luck they’ve fixed the logging out thing on the unit itself.

1.2.1—When not logged into one's account, attempting to update the firmware can display an "Error -16" message—FIXED, but as this was added with 1.2.1, it won't be apparent until subsequent updates

I haven’t looked at the release notes on the app side of things so might still need the biscuits on standby next time too :)

I'm having a hard time to figure out reasons to log in indeed.
Some presets for the OG/stadium are sold through Line6 and are only licensed to the purchaser. When logging in, they are validated.
Having said that, there is no reason that firmware updates should be included in this...and the frequency is unnecessary.
Once in a while for presets, never for firmware

Same here!!!! Why do I even need a @&$)(/ account to get a firmware update?
Maybe they could implement the simple option to "stay logged in on this device" that will persist for 6 months or something longish like that. I suspect it's something that made sense for Line 6 to do 20 years ago for some reason and it's just persisted out of habit. Barring that, maybe implementing a pin-type authentication option (at least for newer devices) would simplify it. First world problems.

Maybe the data of how long a device stays in our hands, how often we log in, how disciplined are we in updating firmware etc is data that helps them?

Maybe I’ll be the one who updates the one millionth time and wins a ‘virtual golden ticket’ to hang out with DI at the Baked Potato watching the next Jeff Beck reveal himself !
(No Orvillain not that kind of reveal… ;) )
