Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

My understanding is that you are (or will be) able to draw the path on the screen and assign it to the expression pedal.

The manual mentions nothing about it that I could find, and there's no obvious way to "learn" an XY path. But maybe that feature is in the works.

Are global MIDI settings different on the Stadium than the OG Helix?

I had things set up on the Helix so it would send MIDI Program Changes but only when I set them up in Command Center, NOT whenever you change presets on the Helix. With the Stadium, I'm finding that it won't send Command Center PC messages if "Send MIDI PC" is off, but if it's on, then it sends a PC every time you change patches.

What am I doing wrong?

I had to go ask this question on TOP since y'all got off on talking about feet.

Man it’s awesome loading tracks into the stadium. Just makes it so much better to practice songs!

Any one knows a good place to buy songs in wav quality? I could locate my old cd collection and load them into my old laptop I guess, but maybe worth buying some.

Qobuz is my usual place to buy lossless music. 7digital and bandcamp have been useful for anything not on there

Whelp, one less how-to video I need to make. Scott kills it here:

Now that is getting me really interested… but still dependent on VDI inputs.

I’m only half way through, but I have a question: does Showcase have Tempo Markers for our more “progressive” songs. We have for example a song that starts as a slow 3/4 with a 5/4 bar thrown in twice each verse, then drops down to quarter speed in 4/4 before ramping up the tempo to a bouncy rock 140 second half. Other songs will have a slow down to finish. Can those tempo changes be mapped, or better, imported from e.g. a MIDI (.mid) file?

This is the issue with the Stadium that some people have been complaining about. I guess DI said it was going to be fixed with the new firmware update some time later.

Anyone know if you can create “songs” or “stems” with the looper and save them to wherever Stadium stores those things without having to export or record to outboard gear and then import them back into that storage/access location?
My thought is I’m playing and come up with a riff/ motif etc and want to save. Then create second and third, etc ‘tracks’ and use Showcase to trigger them in time with a drum machine or drum track. Making the Stadium an all in one guitar players workstation.

Also, I was thinking I’d buy Stadium instead of Stadium XL to use it primarily on a stand or table most of the time because I can do without scribble strips in exchange for smaller form factor. I mostly use the stomps as effects on off toggles so color coding is good enough to recognize what they will toggle.
However, after watching the video Scott made, seeing the transport controls occupy scribble strips I realized I’d love that and makes me wonder if I’ll miss out with that non- XL choice?
Do the transport controls appear on non-XL touchscreen without excessive button pressing to get to them?

Can the transport controls be assigned in command center to stomp switches?

Could capacitive touch of stomp switches be assigned to functions like transport instead of the factory settings, preserving the actual ‘press’ function as it is? Like a global assignment for capacitive touch on some/all regardless of the assigned ‘foot press’ function assignment? ( I’m guessing that might be problematic)

Yes the video shows how to change tempo and time signatures

I finally got around to trying out the new US Super Black model. I have no rapport with its real world counterpart but it's a pretty nice model that I got some nice cleans out of, as well some fun pushed sounds by throwing the Prize Drive in front of it. It's another I have a note to spend some more time with. For reasons I can't elaborate on, I never got on super well with the OG Helix Fender models. The Agoura ones I'm finding myself liking.

I think they are the best of the BF Fender amps! They use a different mid cap in the tone stack from most of the rest which gives a bit less mid scoop at a bit higher center frequency, they are tube rectified, have big bottle tubes and big iron, and the 4x10 speaker config is great...but a Super still sounds better through 12" speakers as well. It's just hits the sweet spot of BF features, other than size and weight!!!

Thanks, I'll try swapping in a different cab with 12" speakers later on. Christmas is fine and all, but it really has a way of disrupting guitar time.
