Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

I swear a few months ago there was some discussion about it all. Maybe it was something that'll be in a future firmware, but I can't remember.
Perhaps DI mentioned it.
Either way, I'm fairly sure it's controllable with or without socks or crocs.

So, is there no viable use case for that XY feature in a performance scenario where the device is on the floor and both your hands are on your guitar, and you don’t have a toe to spare? Even if you had an iPad and it had the capability of mobile control - if you have both hands on your guitar it’s still not viable? Is that something you can automate and use in showcase?
You needn't always have both hands on the guitar. Consider as one scenario: you sound a chord, your left hand continues to sustain that chord, and your right hand reaches out to control parameters on one or more effects. (I used to use this a lot with resonance and cutoff on filters on synth voices. You could also use it to control mix, feedback, rate on any time-based effects.)

The fact that the Stadium might be on the floor is a legitimate concern, but again, the Stadium doesn't have to be on the floor. That's up to the user according to his/her requirements.

My right hand is never chillin’ like that 😈

Put the iPad on a stand at crotch height...or maybe face height and use your nose? Just pick one and stick to it!

Oh, I agree completely. I don't play barefoot in my own home, let alone some random dive, and I don't like the idea of a touch screen on a floor device. The touch interface needs to be remote on an iDevice or Android thingy to make much sense.
Are you saying my toe cheese sensor idea has a limited market? Damn it.

you can map a pre determinded trajctory on the XY plane to an expression pedal.

don't own the unit but should be somenthing like, you draw the path on XY plane and the expression pedal will follow it.

If that's possible, figuring out how to do it is not at all intuitive.

Expression pedals mapped to control the XY parameters. Can control one or both axises at once. You could use multiple expression pedals for per-axis controls, and there's at least one dual axis controller on the market (looks like an elephant's foot, don't remember the brand).

The XY controller screen could be used for e.g recording where you would reamp your sound and could use XY screen to manipulate the sound.

Guitar Bonedo Demo

To my subjective ears, these new Agoura Amps are the best Amps I've heard [on Y/T] of any other current modeler - and no Im not buying one :)

That's such a great demo! Thanks for posting.

Man, the L6 Tweeds sound SO, so good. With the L6 models, I get this very strong sense that I'm playing completely different amps when I switch amp models. It's very evident. You can get that sense from this demo as well.

With Fractal, it almost sounds/feels like they have just a single core amp model with some varying qualities in gain and break-up. The difference is very stark to me. I don't know how to explain it better.

I feel once L6 works a little more on tightening up the high-gain sounds, and adding some high-end on some of the amp models to correspond closer to real-life amp knob positions, it'll be great! I need to have a L6 unit because of all the pedals that they model so well.

Did you say before that you're running into a Powerstage with a real cab? If that's the case, I think that has a lot to do with Fractal amps sounding similar. I tried the same thing with the exact same power amp few years ago and for some reason had the same experience. Through a SS power amp and a cab, many of the same types of amps sounded quite similar. I hated it and returned the power amp and gave up on the idea and ended up just sticking with studio monitors or headphones and using IR's. I didn't try any other power amps or modelers with my cab though. I don't know if it's something to do with that power amp or if there is something impedance related that was causing it. Through IR's, it is a different experience and the differences between amps are very noticeable to me, even through the same IR. It's interesting that the Stadium has more noticeble differences through a cab though.

That’s not my experience with Fractal at all.
But I’m glad you like the L6 :beer
Same here. Fractal has gotten so good I don’t make multiple presets of the same fender amp model and name them to specify amp settings like I used to.
I just call up a factory preset for a model/year then play with the amp controls while playing just like I would if I was plugged into the real amp. I save certain delay, reverb and mod settings and the amp is ‘the amp’.

I ran the Stadium through the exact same rig. Also Helix in the past.

My preference is 100% playing through cabs. The feel and tone are just there.

That's exactly how I would describe Helix LT I had, every damn model felt the same, night and day difference almost when I got my III!
So obviously the good old YMMV applies, funny how we can experience things differently :)
