I'm having trouble understanding how the amp-cab link is supposed to be working. If I have the switch turned on in the cab block focus view, it still loads the factory default cab when I load that particular amp. I thought you would be able to link your own cab choice to an amp, but it doesn't seem to be working that way for me.

Also, it was mentioned that if you have a linked cab and have it bypassed, you can manipulate the impedance curve by bypassing the linked cab and changing it when you have a separate cab block with an IR loaded. I tried doing this and as soon as I change the linked cab model, the link goes away. I also hear no difference in sound when changing bypassed cabs, so I'm not sure if the impedance curve is really changing. Has any else gotten this to work?

I think the way it was supposed to work is you load an amp and if the link is checked; it loads the default cab. I don't think the end user can change the linked cab to their own favorite?

It's kind of confusing because if you load a cab that's different from the default, you can still toggle the link switch. It seems like it should be greyed out if you can't actually change what cab is linked. It's not that big of a deal though since you can have it load with user default settings or just use favorites.

I was thinking about it and the intention might be that the switch is just whether you want it on or off, but not actually related to the specific cab you have loaded.

You can change the cab all day, and it'll inform the Amp's SIC. But if you change the amp in a linked pair, the cab will change to its default. That's why it says "Amp > Cab Link", not "Amp < Cab Link" or "Cab > Amp Link."

This is how it works with Amp+Cab blocks in Helix/HX or Amps and Cabs in POD Go when Global Settings > Preferences > Link Amp/Cab is on. (It is by default.)

I haven't tested this yet - having too much fun with the Hi-Watt at the moment

I tested and I am getting different levels between loading an IR in the Stadium vs Native and MixIR3. This must be causing the perceived difference.

Frank acknowledged a level bug overall compared to the OG Helix that they are working on a fix for. I wonder if this is related to that?

I assigned the Drive to a switch for a lead tone, but the max value is set for when that switch is off, not on, like you'd expect. I know I can set the max value lower than the min value (maybe they should be labeled "on value" and "off value"?), but my OCD prefers it the other way.

Can't you just swap the on/off status? Wouldn't that do the job?

I got a chuckle out of the bright cap discussion here. The first clip I heard of the agoura plexi where I could see the settings, I immediately said to myself “that thing has no bright cap or a very small value bright cap - just wait until the internet figures that out lol.”

To be clear, I find the “correct” bright cap value to be too brash and over the top. I also don’t care for it without a bright cap. My happy place is somewhere in the middle, but in the lower end of the middle values.

I wish they would add a selectable cap value to most amps, it makes them far more versatile across a variety of gain ranges, guitars, and pedals that feed the amp.

Yeah, just swap min and max values. We can't label them "on value" and "off value" because there's no notion of a switch being on and off because it can control up to 16 things, often with opposing states.

Helix footswitch setup is faster and generally easier than FAS (duh) but sometimes I feel like the desire to make it the "easiest thing ever" kind of obfuscates a layer of what is assigned where? I'll add a Favorite block of whatever in to a preset and the associated blocks/functions create a 'Multiple' scenario on a switch where I can't always see/figure out what is assigned to it on the device and definitely not in the editor. Unless I am missing something obvious?

Snapshot recall setup on the Stomp page doesn't seem to toggle to last used snapshot like it does on the combo page with snapshots either? Unless that's by design?

Is the editor that much different from the old one? Because that one had a parameter and a dedicated assignment tab.

I thought so but I don't know? I usually just tool around on the device itself because it's fun to do so. There is the Command Center but not a spot that I've found in the editor. Unless I am blind which could very well be possible? There's not a lot of new content on the Stadium and I don't necessarily want to sift through a bunch of old Helix videos if I can help it.

How do you go about it? I know you can touch footswitches and swap assigned effects that way but not sure of anything else.

If you have touch capacitance turned on, tapping on the switch will rotate through the assigned devices.

I'm not sure if there's any other indication somewhere, but that would be nice.
