Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Tried booting up my Stadium this morning. After several minutes, I was greeted by a message that said "You have been logged out of your account". I had the option to OK or cancel. I hit OK. It sat at the X logo and never continued past that point. Restarting cured it.

Same here - although the system seemed to be working (i.e. all footswitches worked). I think I hit the home button a few times to get out of it.

Sure it's the new GOAT. Let's see:

Strengths:
-State of the art modeling with Agoura
-Probably the best UI ever seen in a modeler, and we're on v1.
-(Coming soon) Captures (Proxy)
-(Coming soon) Showcase (amazing and brand new feature in modelers)
-Big effects catalog
-(Coming soon) mobile app
-(Hopefully coming soon) VST version (not in any competitor device; well, somehow in Quad Cortex but not exactly the same)
-Footprint (especially the non-XL)
-Line6 well deserved good reputation for continuous updates

Weaknesses:
-Reverbs and delays (compared to competitors, not that they are bad per se)
-Fuzzes (IMHO some models could be closer to the original)

Even if they didn't address the weak points, I think competitors really need to run to remain competitive.
Helix Fuzzes are great.

Same here. I just hit okay then the little close dialogue in the upper left of the screen twice and (might have missed it the first time) then it came up normal. I haven't tried to log back in or anything. Maybe some day they'll give us a "remember me" option so we don't have to mess with it every 6-7 days. I remember my credentials but I'm getting older and it gets harder and harder to keep all bazillion of my name/password combinations securely in the old noggin.

So this is what I’m having a hard time buying in to. With that said, mine arrives today.

I HOPE I can hear/feel a difference. I’m sure the new amps are great. I have a Gen 1 Revv 100R MKIII so I’ll compare that to the new Agoura model with the same IR’s.

I’ll also do my own test if my previous HX hardware to the legacy model in Stadium.

I’m glad I got one, I’m sure it’s excellent but no one’s tones yet have blown my tits off. Probably because the previous HX stuff still sounds really damn good.View attachment 55550

I get the skepticism, but I JUST had an extensive session on Helix Native before I booted it up.

It's not night and day, but there IS a difference. In feel and in sound.

I pinky swear I'm not glazing or that it's honeymoon talk. To contextualize it a bit better, I experienced a similar jump in quality, noise floor and overall fidelity when I stopped using Native with a cheapo Steinberg USB-A interface from eons ago and invested in a Presonus Quantum USB-C interface.

Well, there's more to the story. Now it (the app) is telling me I'm not connected to wifi and it when I hit connect, it just tells me I'm not connected to wifi. When I reboot I get a dialogue that I've successfully "updated to your Stadium device". Seems to be in a loop. When I check on the device, Stadium is telling me it's connected to wifi (and I was successful logging into my Line 6 account from it). Ditto with my Stadium app PC. Rebooting everything for a second time, but this is no bueno. Something happened overnight. Line 6 didn't push anything yesterday, did they?

Anyone know how soon 1.2 is due?

Eeesh.

Just checked mine after I had the same thing and it's OK so far.... guess the best thing to do is open a support ticket at this stage.

You guys got me to care about the poly capo now. I was able to load it into the first path along with a comp, volume, pitch (POG), 3 drives, stereo chorus, stereo tremolo, 3 stereo delays, stereo dynamic hall reverb. And I still had room for more. Set tracking to fast and pitched down a whole step. ZERO artifacts in a clean tone, and no detectable latency. This actually blows the Fractal virtual capo out of the water, even in it's current "fixed" state.

I seem to be in the minority, but I found helix poly capo to be the best on the market for this. I thought it was better than fractal or digitech, which I also have and compared side by side.

I don’t agree with you about zero artifacts, it still has some weirdness and I can tell the difference when it’s on, but I found it the most usable of the bunch for live work. Even then, I only used it a handful of times and didn’t totally love it. For actual down tuning, I thought it was better than the rest.

I haven’t tried the newest fm9 fw where it has been improved from the version I’m on, so I can’t comment on that.

For POG stuff, I enjoy the fractal flavor more for reasons I can’t quite figure out. Pulled out my pog2 the other day to compare directly, but didn’t get around to pulling it out.

My Stadium seems to work just fine standalone. And I waited a half hour or so with the stadium turned on but the app closed, and when I reopened the app, it seemed to connect okay. We're hosting over here tomorrow so I only get a few minutes here and there to look at it, so I didn't do anything with the app, just verified it thought it was connected..

It's Thanksgiving weekend and I don't want anyone at Line 6 to waste a second thought on these issues right now. I report observations here with the hope of being helpful to any other users who might encounter wonky stuff. So far the workaround for everything I've encountered is just keep retrying/reconnecting and be patient. Nothing I've seen has transcended minor annoyance yet, and I want to emphasize that through all the app/device connection stuff, The unit itself has not misbehaved for me one bit, even for a second. If I wasn't so habituated to my physical space set up and editing largely on the PC, I'd have not encountered even a small annoyance.

Same here. Hitting home a few times got me out of the X logo screen, but there was a bit of a delay. When trying to log back in, it gave me the QR code (I had the problem others had where no QR was generated when I first booted it) but then the site the QR code brought me to said down for maintenance. It then was stuck at the QR code screen for a bit before letting me exit it. Then, when I tried it again I was able to log in by just entering my details. I wonder if they're trying to fix the problem people were having with the QR code not generating and that has something to do with it. There were a lot of lags during the process, but I got it to work.

This also happened to me. When I try to log back in, the screen just hangs and I can't do anything. Guess I'm not sure why I need to be logged in.
I'll just ignore it for now. Maybe their login server is not working properly...

The unit attempts to reconnect to the WIFI on power up. If it can't connect, maybe that's why it throws the error message??
Seems a bit suspicious there are several people reporting the issue today though.

Personally, I never had the problem since purchasing the unit until today - and nothing in my network setup has changed.
