Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Not meant for people on this forum per se, but are there any Fractal Audio fans out there who can be like "cool unit, good for line 6, enjoy guys!". Cause, I'm seeing much more of the other approach...
I'm another open minded Fractal user giving the XL and try. It arrives today. If at the end of my return window I like it more than my FM3, it will stay. If not I will return with no hard feelings ill will. I like both companies.

I had a little Peavy POS that was worse than both. It was so bad that when it got stollen, I actually felt bad for the guy who wasted his time taking it.
WOW! I didn't know it got worse than those solid state Crates. I stand corrected.

I really like JNC's playing and he seems like a really nice guy .... BUT F.F.S .... enough with the 4 video's per day - not always but incrasingly - about pointless shit.

We are less than 2 Days into a new ground up product with a possible/probable project life-cycle design of 8 - 10 years and he puts out a f*ckinig +28 minute video entitled "The Good, the Bad and the Weird" !?!?!?!?!?!??

Whats on tomorrow " Everything Fractal Got Wrong with the Axe IV "

:facepalm

I do wish a company would be brave enough to get units out to completely unknown channels, and let them use the wave to grow. Not only would it be good for the channels, but it would be good optics for the company as well. Kinda tired of seeing the same old chod over and over again.

You were lucky! I had a Crate and my friend had a Gorilla. I was always envious how much "better" his Gorilla sounded

My first practice amp was a Kramer brand that was part of my guitar and amp combo we bought from Sam’s Club lol. It was tiny and sounded horrible with maybe a 5 or 6 inch speaker. The Gorilla was actually an upgrade with I think an 8 inch speaker!

I've seen this be a double-edged sword in other industries, both because of the power dynamic increasing perceived (and quite possibly real) bias, and because a lot of smaller YouTubers and influencers will purposefully lean more into controversial opinions for engagement. There are certain companies in this same general industry that purposefully exploit both factors with who they give units to too (imo anyway)

Absolutely. I think it is amazingly innovative and I'll probably hit up a GC just to try one out in person, but I fully intend to stick with the Fractal ecosystem.

Have any particular in mind?

I'm genuinely struggling to think of some. I have some I want to see that haven't got it...yet (e.g. Leon Todd, Michael Nielsen, The Studio Rats).

But the only names beyond the usual suspects that I can really think of are:
  1. Zach Wish. he does mostly amp playthroughs, but he did a full-length demo of Archetype: Rabea a few years back.
  2. Kyle Bull (similar, although he'll do more modeling stuff, and he's done some Helix content before)
  3. Maaaaaaaaybe Keyan Houshmand? I think he's mostly a NDSP loyalist, but I've seen him review a few plugins from other companies
Who else reviews modelers and has good production quality that you'd want to see?

Chords of Orion, for that baritone ethereal shit. Not always my thing, but I like seeing what he does with stuff.

Oooooh, that's a good one.

He has a Helix LT that he's done a few videos for, and there need to be a lot more demos showing how creative people can get with the DSP horsepower, routing flexibility and effects. In fact, he went hard for them on a video done shortly after the announcement.

@Digital Igloo, you and Frank should get on that. This guy is an overlooked gem with a unique focus in the GearTuber landscape.

Euge Valovarita who just did packs for Fractal NDSP and Helix his tones are killer

I am actually quite surprised Andertons has not done one yet but perhaps maybe they dont have them in EU yet
