Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

@JiveTurkey This is a hella fun afternoon distraction and I am happy for you, man!

I lined mine up ASAP after launch, but some family stuff with my Dad happened and had to take care of that first. I'll be able to grab mine next week hopefully, but stuff like this is making the wait shorter and more enjoyable.

JC could play through anything and it will always sound the same, way too wet.

I've got no issues with either his playing or his choice of sounds - it's just not the best sound and playing to examine sound properties. Let alone nice smooth leads haven't been much of an issues since many years already, so you're easily fooled into "sounds great anyway".

So some things. Initial things. Super easy to get around on. Duh. FX are not as lush as I expected them out of the gate but I know there is a difference in mix law between what I am used to on FAS and what L6 does. IIRC? Default cabinet mic choices are weird. Not going to lie. Why would something be a default of 997 condensor when a 57 exists? :rofl I digress.

I need to figure out to import the Boss IR to level this playing field in my ears. Had some good tones with the 2203 but then it changed from the Boogie 112 extension back to the t75 cab and all "work" was lost. I also need to figure out how to set delay to time amounts vs subdivisions.

Anyone want to buy my Helix Floor, with a ton of IRs and presets, in very gigged condish for like, fideen hundy? :rofl

So digging the 2203? Good to know. It’ll be my first goto to set my main patch.

2203 boosted by the Minotaur into the Orange 212 with a 57 is pretty damn good so far! I need to get a better handle on these FX. Trying to remember the dual pitch for the Zakk thing I used to do in the Stomp but everything I am trying so far is phasey and not what I am wanting. I'll keep at it.

His intro is usually useless. But later in the video he usually strips away the reverb and delay etc. and you can actually hear the thing.

JT, watch what @2112 does here in his "Grease Factory" setting (I have it cued up). It's a combination of Trinity Chorus, Dual Pitch and Dual and Ping Pong Delay blocks:
