Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Okay. I believe I've tweaked most of my presets now. I think the Stadium will live mostly on the floor except when crafting new presets or making major adjustments to old ones, when I'll move it up to the stand that puts the touch screen in easy reach.

That is all.

Except maybe to ask Line 6 if an iPad editor that mirrors the touchscreen is at all a possibility in the near future (I ain't getting any younger).

I’m not talking about the gate in the input block. Anything that is sidechained to Instrument 1 won’t be affected by Instrument 2. For example if you have Horizon Gate sidechained at Instrument 1 then Instrument 2 will not open the signal and it will sound low and muffled. You can overcome the issue in this case by placing 2 Horizon Gates in parallel and sidechaining one to Instrument 1 and the other to Instrument 2. Upload your preset.
Just to correct the record on this. I don't know I did the first time, but having checked again, inputs 1 & 2 do seem to be identical, which is great.

Can anyone recommend good delay/reverb settings for this kind of soft padding around riffs and solos? I've got my ambient P&W and U2 sounds down, but I'm struggling with this. Thanks!

Had some time on a Stadium XL this week. Very nice.

Not too much to add that hasn't already been said here; UI is great, very easy to use and the tones are pretty much all there. Being able to load my favourites from the stomp was a nice surprise that made patch creation way faster. Focus is very fun and a really good use of all that touch screen real estate.

I never got on with the HX verbs but dynamic hall and plate sound pretty good on Stadium. Having a bunch of classic rack reverbs and the Axe-Fx has made me very fussy in regards to 'verb though.

Delays, mod & filter effects are awesome.

I did a quick side by side with the Agoura 2203 and 5150 Red against the legacy versions and slightly preferred the legacy versions - definitely sounds SIC related. The editor was a little unstable but works great when it works.

Definitely gives me "workstation" vibes.

Hey Leon. Great Vid.

I thought your takes and vid was really objective and accurate - as always !

I say this only because a couple of "known" Y/T reviewers ... JNC, LG and one or two others are now posting shit-baggery-thumbnail-videos and switching from loving the Stadium to calling it ... well "not good" etc.....

The Y/T algorithm pressure to upload is destroying their credibility and they cant even see it :( JNC is now making almost hourly videos just opining about other people videos and opinions .... just sad .... a week or 2 ago Stadium did it all .... now its under-powered etc....

I just want to thank you for not going down this road on any gear that you review.

And this is especially great because - it is obvioulsy no secret :) - what you think is best for you <- a great thing !!!

And might I add that the tones you dialed in, in the first 3 minutes, played up loud fed into by live FRFR rig, was f*cking stunning .... I shut my eyes and just heard Malcolm riffing around !! The other tones were equally fantastic.

Great stuff mate !

Keep up the awesome work :)

Ben

This has been going on since the Pod bean and then really took off when AxeFX I became a more prominent product for the modeling fans to proselytize on. The “more realer” meme is older than my kid who just graduated college.

100%. Because it’s the most fundamental comparison point. When Neural drops capture v2, logically some will compare it to v1.

Sorry but you can't comment any further with that message count.

The whole 6-7 cultural phenomenon is one of the first things that makes me feel like an old man. I don't understand it and actively do not want to understand it. You kids have fun; I'm perfectly happy to stay ignorant of your dumb meme.

My 6'4" son was playing volleyball with a guy who was even taller than him. He asked how tall the guy was, and he sheepishly said, "I don't want to say it."

(He was three inches taller than my son.)

My wife and I say it all the time around the house because we found the quickest way to get our kids to stop using it was for us to start using it too. :ROFLMAO:

I've been saying 7-8 and moving my hands down instead of up to annoy the life out of my kid. He keeps yelling "you're doing it wrong" and "stop embarrassing me dad" :grin
