Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Not the absolute best photo for judging this, but I think the Stadium LEDs do look brighter. I haven't played an outdoor gig with it yet (thankfully, who wants to play outdoors in November/December?), but I think these will be an improvement. (Not sure why that one scribble strip is showing up with a line through the middle of it, but it's photo artifact of some sort, not an actual problem with the strip, just FYI.)View attachment 57135

I had the Stadium and the Stomp side by side, the LED brightness was identical on both units. The only difference that I noticed was that the LED rings on the Stomp seemed to have 4 sections, while on the Stadium it's one continuous circle.

On that picture, yes. At least it seems so. Could you take a more 1:1 kinda pic?
Thing is, in pretty much all other outlets, they're looking just like the OG ones to me.

And as much as others may never run into issues, I'd defenitely have a hard time buying a unit without improved stage visibility.

Otoh, as I'm really only interested in the non XL version, the LT-alike display mode might come to the rescue (I always wished they'd add that to the Floor, but unfortunately it never happened).
Here you go. I think there's a definite difference, and it's even more noticeable IRL than in the photo.

Stadium XL is my first line 6 product since Pod XT back in the day. Although I love the Stadium so far, the manual page on snapshots really isn’t helpful imo. It helps me to understand what a snapshot is and also tells me how to recall them. It took me reading the cheat sheet and speaking to Chat GPT to know that the knobs under the touchscreen were pushable - I can now adjust gain etc per snapshot. Easy enough when you know how but I just didn’t….. Sorry if that sounds weird to the veterans here but I did not know and, if it is in the manual, it’d be lovely if it was there in terms that a rapidly aging idiot could understand. Sorry if I’m being dense but I can’t see it :)

That's something that trips up a lot of folks when they first start working with snapshots.

With this in mind….. is there any way to use focus view with snapshots? In other words hit ‘save’ on snapshot one for your default sound. Then drag the focus view to adjust multiple parameters. Save that to snapshot number two….

If it’s not possible, is this ‘coming soon’? Focus is a fantastic tool and, if it’s not possible to use that with snapshots, it’d be great if it were implemented.

a selected snapshot simply remember the value of any parameter you set as snapshot controllable (push and turn the knob or do it manually).
is really that simple (there are few options but let' keep it simple).

select a snapshot, push and turn a knob to make it snapshot controllable, set it it where you like it. the current snapshot will remeber it.
then choose a different snapshot and turn that knob in a different position and the new snapshot will rembember it.

so to answer your question.....you just need to set all parameters controlloed by the focus view as snapshot controllable, they might be all parameters Idk, I guess it depends on the loaded block.

then select a snapshot, choose your sound in focus view;
select a different snapshot and choose a different sound in focus view and so on.

this should work.

I’m wondering if I should just get the XL. It’s not that big, and the expression pedal is a lot nicer than I thought it was going to be. A big improvement over the Floor/LT.
Are you preordered through MF or SE currently? I would probably switch to the XL through MF if I was currently preordered through SW for the non XL.

For whatever reason, SW seemed to have received a much smaller allocation

Going back to my question from several pages ago - anyone in the UK know of any airline compatible carry on bags that would be suitable for the Stadium XL?

Not just me then? I very much appreciate the friendly humour in the manual but on this particular page I would personally have preferred more info on how to create a snapshot vs analogies involving octopus’s. Anyone who’s ever had a large pedalboard gets the ‘why’ - I just needed more help with the ‘how’

Thank you for posting this - it does indeed work - I appreciate it.

For ‘ease of use’, maybe Line 6 could add a yes / no toggle within Focus to allow you to simultaneously select *everything* that Focus controls and allows you to snapshot it? Although the workaround here absolutely works, it’s a pita to have to do a weird little clicky turny motion on every knob. Better leaving that workflow to where you’re wanting to just adjust a couple of things I think? Focus view really goes beyond that and, for ease of use, being able to snapshot it this way would make sense for those who enjoy focus (which I think is quite a few of us?)

I debated this and went with the XL. With it in front of me, I am happy it is MUCH smaller than the Helix.

We discuss it. We don’t whine about it endlessly. You’re getting to pretty insufferable, dude. Saying shit like “pathetic”, and “nonsense” makes you come across as an absolute dickhead. Back on the ignore list.

Years ago when I got the helix floor, the last modeling device I had used at that point was a Flextone III amp. I was so accustomed to using a different preset for each individual tone that snapshots really threw me off in the beginning. I got used to them quickly and couldn’t live without them now. I like that workflow much better than a bunch of individual presets.
