Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

Fedex has acknowledged, off the record, that yes they do have some boxes on a truck that they can neither confirm nor deny are moving in my general direction.

IT HAS ARRIVED!!!!!

One question I can't figure out: How do you toggle between 8 and 10 stomp switches? I don't do that much tap dancing, so I prefer to be able to cycle through presets without changing modes.

Oh, I've only played two of the presets so far, but damn it sounds good!

There's no 8-switch Stomp mode in Stadium; both Stomp A and Stomp B are 10-switch. We ditched it because eventually, there'll be a better solution and we didn't want methods conflicting with one another. In the meantime, you can assign FS1 to Bank Up and FS7 to Bank Down from the Command Center, but this is per-preset. Easy to copy/paste them into other presets tho'.

Dumb question (and really just a curiosity) but surely it's been asked and answered by now.

With Helix - there is the Helix Floor and Helix LT.

So why didn't they go with Helix Stadium Floor and Helix Stadium LT?

This hardware feels both elegant and indestructible. Flawless job on the unboxing presentation and everything. Like getting a new Mac. Great execution.

Updates are running. Wife is glaring. May not survive. Pls send halp.

I love that so many of our gearpage members are getting these , IMO way better reviews than many of the YouTube guys
I’d like to think we have more realistic expectations?

Where the heck is my unit? How come everyone has one of these in their possession but me. Can we get some detailed reviews guys for those of us living vicariously through your experiences.

Just got mine today. Had it delivered to my job so the wife is none the wiser. I was able to connect to the company Wifi and update it and play around with the touch screen. Very solid build quality, the screen is bright and responsive. I have a work meeting this evening, so still can't plug a guitar into it yet.

I'm very interested in what this eventual better solution is, but for now I'll just enjoy the extra stomps and get used to tapping twice to change presets.

I am so bummed this dropped on me when I have so very little time to play with it (and used more time than I had on it today). But I can't wait to do a deep dive.

I did import my main set list from my Helix Floor, and that went without a hitch. Though I will most certainly end up wishing that amp settings persisted when swapping in a different amp. Switching my existing presets to Agoura amps won't be as easy as I hoped without that.

That does lead me to one more question, @Digital Igloo: Is there a way to identify Agoura amps from the model list? I assumed there would be, but I'm not seeing anything obvious. There's the building with a column logo for legacy amps, but I don't see anything to differentiate Agoura amps. But, again, I've had next to no time at all with it.

Yeah there’s a line of delineation, after the Agoura amps. Then after the HX amps, it goes to Legacy, which are the HX amps that have already been redone to Agoura.

Mine is due to be delivered today here in the U.K. :) I’ll be in for the one hour time slot but then have to immediately go out on a work trip. Looking forward to tonight :)

Yesterday, when I saw Guitar Guitar had them in stock for next day delivery, I called Andertons to ask if they’d had stock and when mine might arrive. They said they’d ’start shipping them out early next week but didn’t have them in stock and would take time to log in the imminent delivery / sort out the pre orders’. I cancelled with them and clicked the button to buy from Guitar Guitar.

I’m not 10 years old and would have just waited patiently as a few days isn’t going to kill me - I’ve bought lots from Andertons over the years and was happy to give them the buisiness. The thing that influenced my swap was warranty; Guitar Guitar give 3 years, Andertons said it was a 2 year Yamaha warranty only so at that point the decision was made. I’d have waited out the few days but an extra years warranty FoC on a high value item is worth having imo. Although most electronic goods are super reliable and Line 6 have a great reputation, I’ve had a couple of things fail over the years in year 3 / 4 so my brain feels better with an extra safety zone built in that I hope I’ll never need.

I feel bad for switching *but* the demand for these things will be high enough that Andertons are not going to get stuck with unsellable stock. Also, I paid the deposit then paid in full once the price became known a few weeks ago so they have had my money in the bank for the last few weeks (and still have - refund is pending). So I’m sure they’ll live :).

Roll on tonight :)

I haven't been paying a ton of attention to every thread but on the topic of the accuracy of the new Agoura modelling, was there any acknowledgement that Line6 are going to take a second look at everything?
