Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

"Sabbra Cadabra."

And if anyone would like to make fun of me by telling me how easy it is to get that sound... and then tell me how to get that sound... I'm all ears. I have in fact asked ChatGPT or whatever engine is now inescapably lodged into Google Chrome, and it was the same old drivel about how Tony used a Rangemaster treble booster. :idk
News flash: I think I'm making progress with a Moogerfooger block at the front of my chain, mixed at about 50%.

But of course, as previously noted, Tony is in the fingers. :D

Long boot times are sometimes unavoidable, but I do take issue with the amount of elapsed time with no user feedback whatsoever. That’s been a pet peeve of mine with Apple devices for a while now. Sure, it may take a minute for a complex piece of gear to boot up, but it should somehow acknowledge (with a beep or a light or whatever) that the process has started - and that it’s not dead - immediately. For a few seconds, I thought this was someone documenting a DOA Stadium.

But here again: probably easily rectified in firmware.

While I didn’t love everything he dialed in the shorter video earlier this year, I’m 2 mins in here and this is exactly what I want to watch. Someone dialing in presets. That Deluxe sounded great from the start.
The constant camera changes frustrated the hell out of me when many times he's like "I'm going to add this thing" and it cuts to a camera where you can't see the actual unit being operated.

A guy on Facebook was bitching (maybe that’s too harsh a word) that he could only get two Agoura amp blocks, a tube screamer, and a poly pitch on one line before he ran out of DSP.
Dunno, that sounds like a lot of shit.

I know it’s just my use case showing, but I’ve never understood the obsession with poly pitching as an absolute necessity. Maybe it’s because I grew up in the 90’s when this wasn’t even a possibility.

He also put two amps in one line; not sure how that impacted his DSP, but I feel like he was trying to replicate how he built a QC preset on Stadium.

Sounds like Poly pitch is still really demanding. Helix Floor/Rack can fit Poly Pitch + Amp + Cab and not much else into a single path.

So by that notion they were able to cram a full extra amp, and a drive pedal into there.
