Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

I just sold my Axe III to fund a Stadium. :idk
Come Here Dr Evil GIF

Me too - but will be there on their next gen product - last time I waited too long and the Axe-Fx II price tanked.

Yeah I get Cliff's excitement to talk up their next gen, especially with the Stadium looming, but it can deter those who were thinking of taking the plunge into current gen.

Yeah, I'm THIS close to finally just going for the FM9, but a looming next gen is one of a couple things making me hesitate (even though I'm guessing that an FM9 II would be a ways after an Axe FX IV anyway). The Stadium being another of those things.

  • Better footswitching. Either something like Fractal does where you can choose what each switch does, or at the very least some way to toggle between modes without an external switch

Yes please!

  • Gapless preset switching
  • Spillover on preset change

This might not be possible, at least I'd think so. I mean, with the OG Helix Floor you had to sacrifice one entire CPU to get there, would mean that the new Stomp would have to be massively overpowered just for these functions.
Sure, Boss manages to do it as well - but in return, their amp modeling sucks.

  • Global blocks, or some other way to have an amp on 10 different presets and when I tweak the settings on one preset and save, those changes are automatically synced on all other presets using it.

Defenitely this! And fwiw, it'd also help with the gapless preset switching and FX trail spillover issue. How so? You could just create patches per song/situation and still be able to manipulate things globally that you'd want to use in multiple songs/situations. No, this wouldn't give you gapless switching and spillover but you could create way more tailored patches a lot easier, so you wouldn't have to switch.

  • Combo XLR/1/4” outputs would be nice if possible

Yes please!

I was asked to be very conservative with those dates. Probably sooner, certainly before Thanksgiving week.

When you say the morning of launch, I assume you mean the day you give retailers the greenlight to begin shipping.

So that'll mean it launches with the embargo lifted on influencer videos and such, but people still will have to wait 1-3 more days to play it for themselves. Is that right?

The proximity to Thanksgiving isn't anyone's favorite choice, I'm sure, but I am sure it couldn't have been helped. I'm hoping it is the 18th so that'll give me some time to enjoy it before visiting family takes over my entire Thanksgiving week.

The nuggets about 1.3 and beyond were appreciated, and it looks like we're scheduled for a ton of goodness in both December and late January/early February.
