Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

Anyone else wondering if there’s something coming on the amplification front from L6 that we don’t know about yet? The Mark Lettieri video had me wondering what he was monitoring with in the room.

There are probably 2 or 3 among us who could make the case for literally “needing” one, if that.

I could actually come up with some reasons for myself almost suggesting I would "need" it. The main one possibly being the form factor - and that'd only be true for the non-XL version.

Right now, I can decide between using 3 rigs. My big board, which is covering all situations I might run into, but it's less than ideal for any train travels, let alone other means of public transportation. Then there's my small Stomp-based board, which is great but obviously limited in quite some ways (I may kinda hotrod it, but still...). And then there's always the option to only use the GT-1000, which fits just fine in my double gigbag, any suitcase and any backpack - but the amp sounds just suck (could grab a single Tonex One in addition, but that'd add a layer I wouldn't want to add for the gigs that require a smaller setup). The vanilla Stadium would easily solve any thinking about these issues as it'd be suitable for all situations.

And to actually make all this more relevant (it really isn't for most typical gigs where I can just grab the big board and call it a day), there's a whole bunch of gigs coming up during the next months that actually require a smaller rig (possibly quite some train gigs among them, but most of all they're quick set up gigs).

So, if the vanilla Stadium was available already, I could kinda easily find good reasons for myself why I may "need" it. And I could even kinda say that it'd recoup some of the cost. The XL however would not be suitable. And in case the non-XL version really only shows up in late spring or early summer, a whole lotta those particular gigs will already be over.
Add to this that I'll likely come up with a "medium", suitcase/gigbag-ready setup until then anyway, so in the end I might be left without any "need" at all.

Ain’t stopping the rest of us. ;) There are probably 2 or 3 among us who could make the case for literally “needing” one, if that.

What's this "need" thing you speak of?

I know, I know, LOL, sometimes I can be a good guy and buy gear just because it's gear but I'm baiscally a bad guy.
I already own an Helix Floor and I'm not even palying digital these days.

I'll buy one in the future, I'm sure I will.

I knew 10 years ago I would order a successor to the floor the moment it becomes available. I'm not even a "professional" anymore but Helix (Floor and Native) was one of the best investments in gear ever. So do I need it? I want it!

I think we're all collectively betting that the Stadium follows the same development path that the Helix did.

As they say - past results are not indicative of future performance.

DI could leave; YGG is a big company, they may decide a different direction...who knows. Hopefully, it all works out....especially at this price point!

I'm personally hoping for more boutique amps (Cornford, Morgan, Naylor etc.), best in class amp and OD pedal modeling, and better FX (reverb is not up to par with rest of competition).

Past that, I think the Line6 interface works extremely well for me. I know people have stated that the NDSP QC has the easiest-to-use interface, but I've had zero issues with how L6 implements things and can tweak on the fly with ease.

You just gave JNC an idea for a new "We need to talk about..." video.
