You will notIt's kinda crazy, but we might actually get the Blu Amp X before Kemper's MKII firmware release.
I wonder if there will be other new products releasedI'll definitely have a chat with Thomas but I expect the news to be the same as last year. We'll see though, I'd love to be surprised!
I’m not sure that Guitar Summit is much of a new release venue then rather a fun roll for end users.I wonder if there will be other new products released
I know line 6 will be there with Stadium , I think also Sweetwater gear fest is next week too
Could be an interesting few weeks
It very much has new firmware. Sadly the new supposedly “improved” profiling hasn’t happened (yet).Amusing to me that 4 months later, Kemper still has no new firmware. The MkII release is very "sad trombone."
Well to be fair they do offer public betas.Im guessing but I think its only a matter of a week or 2 from "release" Whether that's the same as available for download ..... who knows ?
A *lot* of this earlier Fractal stuff has ... how shall we say .... "not aged well"Thankfully Cliff and his team don't communicate like this anymore .... at least not in the last 2-3 years ... notwithstanding his embarrassing "gameboy" comment .... they [mostly] let their excellent products do the talking ... unfortunately, the same cant be said for a lot of the f*ck-knuckles over in the official Fractal forum
I think you’re taking what Cliff said completely out of context. He said that what they’re planning for the next generation will make every unit currently on the market seem like a GameBoy in comparison. That’s not embarrassing in the least, do recall that the Axe FX 3 clobbered everything else when it was released as well, and still has way more power than most units out there.
i.H.m.O.pI.m.h.o .... nope. He knew exactly what he was saying .... there was huge discussion ... both pro / con on that thread re: the Stadium .... and it was his way of "settling the acolytes" / minimizing "potential crossover sales"
Its far from a new thing .... just another sort of F.U.D.
It was a piss-poor comment - that's my view - clearly we disagree - its all good.
But it does seem like taking a slight swipe at competitors, hence the "gameboy" phrasing. I doubt a new axe fx would actually make current units look as weak as a Gameboy, comparatively speaking, but I'm not an expert of such tech.I think you’re taking what Cliff said completely out of context. If you go through life seeking drama, you’ll always be able to find it regardless of whether it is real or not.
And as a side note, personally I am also not a fan of how fractal runs their forum when it comes to competitors, like closing up threads about other units. It feels like there's this faint climate of fear or insecurity. Generally speaking, I prefer how Kemper have traditionally handled this, even though it seems to change recently -- they'd allow threads about other units and quite free discussion within them.
And tonex thread closed arguably because people were talking about technical support kind of stuff, it can be said. I'm sure there's some reasons like that, so I'm less confident now about my impression. There was a thread on the Stadium there that went 30 pages, it was only closed because people ran out of relevant things to discuss and the thread went off the rails.

That said, I still feel they can get insecure about their units in a way I haven't seen from Kemper in the past. Just my impression based on participating in both forums -- even though Kemper seems to have changed quite a bit these days, maybe due to lack of developments and the negative internet response to MKII.
