You mean like "WTF are you thinking? Have you opened a webpage in 5 years?" kind of grilling? :D
I was thinking more of a friendly

My one experience at the Kemper forum was seeing people talking about how bad/wrong the uni-vibe sounds - which is completely true, it's probably the worst one I’ve ever heard, at least at the time - and then someone from Kemper responding by saying that’s what vibes sound like, you're all just mistaken and ill-informed. :rofl

Only got my Kemper last year, but for digital I think the Vibe sounds badass good. Way better than what I had in Line6 stuff (M Series, Helix, ) or SoundSculpture or TC before. Ymmv

They’ve probably improved it, this was a few years ago.
In the 12-13 years I’ve had the Kemper, they’ve improved the delays, reverbs, stomps / fuzz, added the liquid profiling thing, added an editor and (quite recently) updated the tremolo. They have not yet done anything with the rest of the modulation effects or the wah.

Every single time they’ve improved something? Before they did it, employees / moderators / fan boys would tell you that you didn’t need any improvements - what was in the unit was already perfect and they would go in the direction of shaming you for not knowing how to use it. The ‘we’ve improved the profiling that was already perfect’ is completely in character with how they’ve been over all this time……. There’s some really nice delays and reverbs in there now imo but the original ones were frankly crap in the context of it being a high-end unit. I’m hopeful they are able to pull off the profiling improvements but if that’s genuinely all there is? It’s not enough to persuade me to give them money for a mk2 when the competition out there is so different to the landscape when I bought my toaster.

The mods have a long history of avoiding questions. You’ll see a reasonable question asked in a thread. You’ll then get fanboys jumping on the person who dared to ask such a thing. You’ll then get someone make a *slightly* off topic comment and the mod will chip in with ‘back on topic please’ whilst absolutely blanking the question. Just so you know they’re intentionally ignoring the question as opposed to just missing it. FFS, if you clearly have time to say something on the thread then either answer the question or say ‘I can’t answer this right now’. They made a great product with the mk1 imo but they’re crap at engaging with their users in an adult manner. I’ve had more ‘official company’ engagement of a useful nature with DI in the last month asking questions about Stadium on here than I’ve had in 12 years of asking questions on the official Kemper forum which is sad when you consider it’s their controlled space. Were I to make this statement over there I’d be called ‘entitled’.

This is not much different from e.g Fractal forums, and probably Line6 too. But the difference is that Cliff is at least willing to explain why something is the way it is, and then fix/improve it if need be. But the fan boys will tend to be quite feral.

I found this interview interesting in terms of claimed "perfection". From way back. Cliff in 2011 about JCM sim.

"IC: How close are the A/B tests this time around?

CC: I think they’re spot on. I do. I do double-blind testing with my wife. ‘Alright, which one’s which?’ and she can’t tell."

Which "spot on" can interpreted perhaps more charitably than some other claims, but it's still interesting to me.

Cygnus firmware was said to "uncover the secret of chug". The JCM sim people used the most suddenly became bananas good, folk would claim.

And yet, the sim sounded spot on since 2011? (If the sim modeled the same amp. I am not sure). What gives?

A *lot* of this earlier Fractal stuff has ... how shall we say .... "not aged well" ;) Thankfully Cliff and his team don't communicate like this anymore .... at least not in the last 2-3 years ... notwithstanding his embarrassing "gameboy" comment .... they [mostly] let their excellent products do the talking ... unfortunately, the same cant be said for a lot of the f*ck-knuckles over in the official Fractal forum

I spent about 2 weeks there before I realized it was a useless place and left. When I got my Kemper unit I was using an expression pedal for delay and reverb mix. Jumping between the 5 performances it always went back to the default value and not the pedal position. I thought I was doing something wrong and when I was told that’s just how it was and suggested that’s an improvement that could be made I got a similar response.

Now washes whiter.

Feel. Honestly, the sound really hasn’t changed much in years. But feel has. Most of the improvements since then are things in the models that most of us will not perceive audibly.

I'll be at Guitar Summit, don't think they were there last year? At least, I don't remember seeing them. If they have anything new I might report it here... I might also not though. We'll see 😅

Please hit up both the Kemper and BluGuitar booths and report back!

Kemper should be at Guitar Summit this year at least based on the GS website.
