Kemper Profiler MK 2

Ah, the lore of diminishing reburns. ATOADASO.

So it is unclear to me - they are saying it is "more powerful" but have they actually (a) upgraded the core DSP Chips / Power (?) or (b) is the "more power" from better written and more advanced FW and Profiling Processes running on the same MK1 hardware (?)

These waters are very murky !!
From what I can gather from breakdown's of the Player (that is already MK2 ready) the DSP and SRAM (the parts used to actually create sound) implies that ALL MK2 versions of the profiler use the exact same sound creating chips.

What did change is the CPU responsible for running the GUI, WiFi, Remote, etc. Me and a few other engineers are speculating that all Kemper did was replace the "System on a Chip" SOC board that has the new CPU on it. This makes it boot quicker, remote switches faster, and it can hold more of everything than before; however, it doesn't seem like there is any reason (other than storage) to believe that MK1 couldn't do everything MK2 can do. In other words, I don't understand why they can't just offer the updated profiling to everyone but reduce the number of them that can be held on an MK1.
Granted we're dealing with Schrödinger's Kemper here, but the only thing they could do with the lower resolution profiles would be to interpolate the missing data. Would that be an improvement, or is it just what the existing units already do?
I think (don't know for sure) that the data for a profile is likely stored in the frequency domain. If that is the case, then essentially the MK2 would have a much higher (don't know how much higher since Kemper hasn't published how many samples their MK1 takes) "clean frequency" point. The Mk1 would have the same quality as it does today with an MK2 profile (my guess).
I was told that and it didn’t really help. And I can’t see

That’s exactly why i sold my kemper to buy an fm3

I gotta be really honest. I bought the kemper to replace my tubes amps as I was getting hired by a band that required silent stage, stereo effects etc.

I struggled like never to get a cardboarded non dynamic kind of plexi crunch. I just coud not play the kemper it was nothing like an amp.

First rehearsal, the other guitarist in the band had a ax8….
It was like I was playing on a peavey bandit and he had a full Bradshaw rig…

And don’t talk about the dynamic, if kemper can’t replicate the dynamic of a plexi then it just can’t replicate dynamic, just faking it.
I 100% agree with all your criteria for a digital amp. I just have different results. Still, it's about gigging and having a great time doing it. The gear is just a way of getting there. If FM3 gets you there, that's great.
So, you think that gazillions of guitarists (some high profile ones among them) are just ignoring that cocked wah sound? Sorry, but I call BS.
Agree.
Spent a good chunk of today trying to dial in the Fractal to get the midrange presence of the Kemper with a Michael Britt profile. What ended up getting me very close was using one of his IRs and then it was almost there. Similarly replacing the cab in a Michael Britt profile with the Leon Todd TV Mix got me really close to Fractal with the same IR.

Not saying it’s just the cab but that’s probably most of it.
IME (which admittedly is only a few days with the Fractal Axe III Fx), you are correct. You can get any tone you want on either unit, but you get there more easily with Kemper.
