If it was actually readable from any reasonable distance.....which it isn't. At least the GT1K screen is bigger, and more easily readable.

Well, the GT's screen isn't exactly great, though. Readable, yes, but the difference in contrast between on/off blocks could be way better and the fonts are way too small, too. In fact, the GT-10's display was easier to deciper, go figure. The main display modes (patch and manual) are fine and they have the LED strips absolutely right, perfectly visible under any condition, which, for me, is absolutely crucial.
And from what I've seen on stages, the Kemper Stage does a great job, too.
As saId before, I take these over fancy colors any day.

This doesn’t seem worthy of a Kemper Mk 2 label. More like Kemper Mk 1.0.0.1. Not really a surprise, it’s very much in character for the brand. I’m only wondering how long before the Mark 1 gets a paid update option for most of what’s in the “Mark 2”.

I don't think so
The answer was Player is getting the new Profiling capability.
EDIT: As I really look at things, I'm not sure anymore. I think someone at Kemper needs to confirm publicly that the Player will get the ability to actually Profile. I've re-read several of their marketing materials and they're not even consistent on the total number of effect blocks - sometimes it's 20, sometimes it's 18. Yeah, it's 18 if you count the amp and cab blocks, and 20 if you count the input and output blocks - but I don't consider those effect blocks. So my bullshit meter has been activated.

It's one of my annoyances that the Player says "Profiler" on it and yet hasn't profiled. I've been thinking they should have put "Player" on it instead, but it looks like they've been playing the long game. If they can rejigger the I/O to support profiling then they must have known they were going this route from the start.

Yeah, and they're now even integrating ChatGPT into Logic (latest update from today), which you need Apple Intelligens to be installed for (which I hesitated to activate so far). Instead of fixing some longstanding issues. Mega-Yuck.
