Well, it's the most relevant issue for me. Not only that I never felt the KPA display was getting in the way for the times I was using it, it's also that you can simply use an editor to pre-prepare things. So the display doesn't really get in the way once you're in a comfortable (home) studio situation. It does however get in the way as soon as a live situation is concerned. And I *vastly* prefer something clearly visible under all conditions over a nice looking screen that I simply can't deciper once the lightning situation becomes critical. And as you know, this happened to me not just once but a bunch of times.

That’s admirable, but realize most other people don’t share that use-case. I also think the Kemper’s screen is worse than the GT1k, due to the tinier size.

So, what exactly are the issues with the KPA display? That it's monochrome and the opposite of bling-bling?

There are two issues:

(1). They are adding a feature that has 20 effects blocks in a single block or something, yet you're going to have to edit it on this tiny thing? That's almost as bad as the on-board editing of the Atomic 3/6/12 units.

(2) There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Squier classic vibe instrument. At its price point.

Mark and his tech spent a lot of time in his studio making profiles of his favourite amps and produced bespoke profiles for each song.

Why? The the rest of the band make profiles of their instruments for each song?

Experience does not inherently equal expertise.

This Mark 2 has missed the mark in so many ways. Same number of effects slots? Same screen?

Fwiw, this is something I would even absolutely agree on. Guess we will see how they manage to deal with it. Maybe there's some clever shortcuts to take you from A to B more efficiently.
But as said, for that amount of additional blocks, I can absolutely see how it might become an issue.

Yeah, because Fractal didn't change their designs from their super successful AxeFX II when going to the III. Oh wait......they did.

To be fair the step from the Ultra to the II was fairly minor, aesthetically, but the inclusion of IRs was monumental.
