Kemper Profiler MK 2

If it mostly depends on that then it's the proof the process is highly inaccurate and is the equivalent of "I'll get the frequency response and the amount of gain in the ballpark, then you [the user] can tweak it like you would do on any other modeler".
For me, this is the state of things for any profile or capture.

Man, that’s a pretty complete list. Bookmarked!

I gather you're not using any digital devices then, in case 3ms are "way" too high, right?
I don’t care about your nulled or scientific way of measuring latency or whatever.
The latency was just way too high for me on the stage. I could feel it way too much. Period.

The dynamics also feel fake. I had better results with a tubeman miII and a torpedo live.

Maybe kemper is great for some amp or some players but sorry it wasn’t for me and this unit absolutely can’t reproduce a plexi dynamic.

In a perfect world?

If tou take a photo of a painting does it look as good? Can you correct flaws to make it more uniform?

It's never a perfect replica. It is not possible with tech as we know it.
A photo of a painting is not an emulation of a painting.

I've never used a Kemper, but I'm always very happy with how NAM models turn out, and Tonex fwiw.
It's ridiculous because it usually does sound THE SAME.
Also, a nice touch is that after training a NAM model there are details of the ESR.
Sometimes it's 0.001 or something, perhaps a little better, or a little worse.
So, not only do I get pleasingly great tones in my ears, but also there is a confirmation, in writing, as part of the training process which lets me know I'm not just going crazy with thinking it sounds THE SAME - because it is basically THE SAME.

(If you aren't sure what it means, ESR is basically Error Signal Ratio, in other words "a null test").

I do like the idea of the Kemper Player - it looks cool, great functionality, and I'm sure people who have one will be happy with all these updates. . . but I can't wait to see the results of a comparison when it's finally out there because the marketing copy is wildly BOLD.

I know Mendel, Leo, and several others will likely do some tests, and this will reveal what we all need to know.

This is the first one is see with Kemper being Miles apart, against a st load of others.
Also not in line with my own experience profiling….at all.
Sounds to me they left a global EQ on, or something of the sorts.

If this was the actual baseline…they would have never gotten where they did.
The Michael Nielsen video shows problems with the Kemper too. And its not like Michael doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Now show us on the doll where the Kemper touched you :sofa

Until someone releases a complete multi-fx unit like the Quad Cortex or Kemper that supports high resolution NAM captures, I’m going to pass. No way in hell I’m gigging with a laptop.

Yeah for sure, NAM isn't a true contender when compared to an in the box thing like QC or Kemper for gigging.

But for us losers (like myself) that don't gig. NAM plugin is pretty sweet

I dunno man... the NAM Player by Dimehead is incredible so far in my opinion, combine it with any HX Stomp or FAS VP4 or whatever, and it's even awesomer. I get it's not got everything like more mature multi-fx units on the market, but it's not really aiming to be that either.

Also, Anagram looks awesome too. Does alot more, but it's not in stock currently so I've not tried it yet.

Not beef but there have been graph wars over the years a time or two:rofl Stubborn Christoph retorting with "we don't require our users to buy new hardware every 'x' amount of years". Obviously that retort is no longer valid given the topic at hand :bag

Mainly just talking out my butt :grin The calculator screen to me screams "we're using the same thing we always have; we've just found a way to make things runs more efficiently"
10-4 JT.

Not to spit in anyone's holy water, but I've had the toaster Powerhead, rack Powerhead, and still have a Stage (haven't touched it since I bought my Fractals) and I am way not impressed with this.

I hated trying to set up the thing using that #$$%!@!!!! tiny 2000-ish LCD screen. And no GOOD GUI editor to boot. All I can say is phooey. People complain about the Fractal unit UI, but I'll take it over the Kemper any day. And that being limited to fixed locations... fugheddaboudit....
