Kemper Profiler MK 2

Yes., indeed. However, in a very real sense, I have no "dog in the fight", as I own a Mk1 PowerRack since 2014. So, this Mk2 advancement will not "benefit" me. Nevertheless, I got my monies worth, and then some. Despite the fact it won't improve my Mk 1 legacy hardware...I still hope Kemper hits this out-of-the-park for the Mk2. I wish all new Mk2 Kemper owners nothing but the best.

It remains to be seen if there's really a difference between V1 and V2 profiling, right? Except for the new SIC controls, Thomas could have done that demo on a Mk1 with a V1 liquid profile. I don't know if the demo would have sounded any different.

Well, even putting aside the Liquid Profiling, I know that my Mk1 PowerRack does not respond the way Thomas Dill was demonstrating, when it comes to the True Impedance and guitar interaction with the modeled Fuzz and associative Marshall SLP. I think this is something specific to the Mk2? Or, perhaps it was implemented on the original version of the Kemper Stage. Either way, it certainly isn't happening on my Mk1 PowerRack.

Nevertheless, be that as it may...it at least SEEMS to me that the tonestack is even more crazy responsive, with the Mk 2 w/ Liquid Profiling 2.0. In any event, I was really impressed with the demonstration. Maybe I am an easy sell. Actually, I am an easy sell...as I have WAY too much gear at the moment. :facepalm

That has nothing to do with the Mk2 or the V2 profiling. The Stage has had that variable impedance feature for years and the head does not have it, not even the Mk2.

Understood…I mentioned that I thought the Stage might have that feature. I was not aware that MK2 Toaster and Rack do not have this, which is surprising.

Hey :)

This is news to me (?)

I had a Stage for nearly 12 months .... I don't recall ever seeing a "variable impedance" setting, like, for example, the IK Multimedia Audio Interfaces have - which they call the "Z Tone" which is a true fully variable impedance setting (?)

Can you please elaborate ?

Thanks.

Kemper calls it "True Impedance", so for details see that section in the manual.

I'm not on Instagram.

Can anyone here who is on Instagram check this out and report back ?

Not gonna join another digital harvesting platform just for a once in a blue moon occasional answer .. but if others here are already happily on it, Im happy to ask.
You can literally search for what you want to see, without joining.

What a coincidence that after I pointed out to a bunch of people about the mysterious Kemper viewbotting for the last 3-4 months, their latest video hasn't been viewbotted. The only ones to NOT be viewbotted in the last 3-4 months are those 2 x Artist Talk ones and now this new one... again, must be a giant coincidence that it's now stopped......

I was prepared to be skeptical but you are correct, mundane videos that had hundreds of views last I checked now have tens of thousands of views. There’s no explanation other than artificially pumping up views that I can see.

If that was directed by Kemper that is extremely troubling.

Me too. Same boat. I suppose if MK2 were to be a HUGE smash and somehow suddenly WAY better than MK1, I might consider it; however, it is unlikely since my belief is that once you take a great profile made with V2 with LP and put it on MK1 and perhaps tweak it just a little, there will likely be little daylight between the 2. I hope I am wrong, but I am betting I am not.

It is MY opinion that Kemper didn't even bother to use a different main board on MK2 units (ie, the motherboard for MK1 Rack is EXACTLY the same part as MK2, DSP and all). The only thing they changed was the applications processor that is put into a RAM slot on the Kemper motherboard (runs the GUI and Linux OS, but does not process sound).

I consider this very shady, but certainly not illegal. This issue, along with the fact that I was unceremoniously thrown off the Kemper forums for bring this (and other) subject up (they claim it was due to off-topic posts .... I claim BS), I will likely put my money behind a new Stage when it matures a bit. I think the Stage is going to be pretty prevalent for gigging and touring in a few years. Until then, my MK1 is sounding fantastic every gig and every practice..... so no hurry ;).

I wish all of the true innovators in this space well: Fractal, Line6, and Kemper. That said, Kemper's current reputational damage is entirely self inflicted. They keep doubling down when they should be begging for forgiveness.

I'm probably skipping a few things, but there's been the gimped button affair (disabling hardware functionality that was there since the beginning of the product), the lock-in by suckage Kone, the tiered Player, the Mk2 launch, and now censorship-gate. Now, there's nothing in there that they didn't have the right to do as a business, but it forms a distinct pattern of 'screw the customer'. Eventually, people catch on.

I logged in to IG so I could look, but I don't see anything. That doesn't make any sense anyway. The Mk2 remote is not new.
