Kemper Profiler MK 2

Where is anyone seeing that the Player can profile? It’s not in the new manual at all.

People are misinterpreting the statement that I and others read as the Player will be able to run the new profile algo.

It has since been stated people have called Kemper and they confirmed it will have profiling capability but idk, it still didn't sound straightforward to me

The "new" [ if it is new ] amp Amp and IR Profiling wont be available to users for some time yet so any null testing done now *if* someone has a MK2 on hand is pure click bait.

So much hate for a product that a f*ck-tons of bands and studios at all levels have been happily using for ~14 years to tour and record with.

I get it though.

I hate NDSP, Atomic, Pro Tools, UA etc...- but am running a Dream 65 with my Stomp and, to my utter surprise, its the best Amp tones I've ever had.

People hate Helix.

People hate Boss.

Preple hate Fractal.

But this thread really strikes me as being on a whole 'nother almost pathological level - especially given no-one here has one, and its purported biggest feature wont even be implemented for probably another month or two

I don’t really hate any of them completely. Love Fractal and Helix, find things to like about the QC but think the company itself are a bunch of choad warriors. I have never liked the sound of profiles, the effects, or the workflow of the Kemper. And CK strikes me as an arrogant douche. But I don’t hate Kemper.

I posted about it earlier but I don’t see it as hate, it’s critical feedback honestly. The undertone is that kemper have had their head in the sand for a long time now and this is essentially the v2 we’re seeing 15 years later

If the quad cortex 1, mk2 came out in 2035 and had a few more fx blocks and some mildly better capture algos they’d get the same amount of dunking.

I don’t see this as moving the needle for kemper, it’s really just more of the same. Great if you’re a Kemper enthusiast.

I don't know how far down the track an Axe 4 is, but sadly, the current "trade stuff" going on has probably put the Axe 4 "project" on ice indefinitely.

Then Kemper left me in bitter taste (after I sold them all) that it's been holding off to reveal wifi, and USB Audio that I had been requesting for a long time. They always said it wasn't possible or something like that.

I’m glad to see somebody updating something and putting something new out. I never played a camper but I’m sure it’s decent. It’s just not readily available locally to try so that’s why I’ve never bought one. I was just surprised they kept the same small screen, but maybe the next iteration and a couple years will have a nicer screen.

Honestly , it is really going to come down to the new profiling improvements
If they have somehow come up with something that is better than ToneX NAM and NDSP and sets the bar for feel and sound of a captured tube amp then they will reclaim their crown but if it is just hype and turns out to be marginally better or the same as the current products available at a lower price point it not going to be a good look

Personally , I would love it to be something jaw dropping
I would love to grab a player over the NDSP stuff , but for all the hate Neural gets their tones and captures sound the best to me At the moment

What if they switch to a web based profiling system but it only spits out Kemper compatible files (batch profiling and all future units have profile functionality)

Only way for the cloud system to receive audio data for profiling is via a proprietary $250 Kemper dongle for your PC's mic input jack.

Seems more like confusion over the direction than hate to me. Given what’s come out since the OG it seems kind of minimally thought-out. Instead of what could bring the platform into 2025 this is more like what could bring the platform into 2019, lol.

I’ve scanned through pages of this thread now…. I still don’t know if there’s an actual new Kemper or what is new about it. But I do know that the screen isn’t new, and people are very unhappy about that.
