Kemper Power rack.

I sold my toaster last spring I think? It was before the last update. For me I'm all about chorus and there's a couple good options but not quite there. If the prices of Stages or Players drop down I may pick another up sometime.
The last two updates are huge in the fx .

I went and say Halestorm / Evanescence here in October
The Warning opened up
The Halestorm tones was some sort of Fender combo and it sounded like crap to be honest

Evanescence was your typical Rectos , way to much low end and lack of clarity

The Warning opened up and the guitarist Danny had a Kemper stage through a little an orange power amp
Best tone of the night by a long shot , clear , loudAF
Tons of punch. It made me research what she was using as her sound was just fantastic, and surprised it was a Kemper stage killed the tube amps that night TBH
In your seats, maybe.

This is the thing about those sorts of bands; the venues are so fucking big, that the amplification does not matter. At all. Seat 203 sounds markedly different to seat 204, and in comparison to seat 32? Fucking forget about it.

I’ve seen Danny a few times in small venues and She always sounds great.

That doesn't change the literal truth of the physics behind my statement. The entire principle is the same of that of mic'ing a cab - the position of the "ears" in relation to the "source" changes the tone.

She could've been using a bloody PodXTLive and still sounded great thanks to front of house and seat positioning, I'm sure.

Ultimately, gear isn't important. I proved that to myself today when piping my Axe FX III into the VH4 poweramp and using a model; sounded better than the amp!!!

I just found The Warning toward the end of summer. I really like what they are doing. From some of the videos I have seen of them it sounded like they would sound very good live.

They are excellent. Best live act I’ve seen in ages.

Your amp is broken.

When I was at Rockville ‘21 I walked by one of the smaller stages as they were starting their set, I didn’t watch a single other small stage act that weekend but them. You could tell they were really playing everything coming out of the PA and they had some oomph to them. Far more entertaining than that horn band where the chick pissed on the stage right before them.

A year or so later when I saw them popping up more I saw a small documentary type thing where I saw they’ve been playing together since they were quite young and had some very supportive parents. It’s cool seeing them get some bigger shows now.

hahahahahaha!! I don't even remember what they were called, but I know who you're talking about! Never listened to any of their music, so that shows you what "stage antics" gets you.

Yep , she played in Toronto small club , sounded the same , she just cut great for that style of music , the guitar sound alone was enough to make my ears perk up.

they also IMO stole the Show .
In addition to the guitars , the drums sound was monster

When Halestorm got on it sounded like a fisher price kit , I was really looking fwd to seeing Arejay , cause he always was a crazy good drummer
but his sound was thin and papery and he looked bored like he was phoning it in.

Pau is something special too they are just on it.

Everyone knows my opinion already. :rofl
Yea, I hear you have KPA envy your poor ole Axe III Fx user. I'll pray for you :).

I've killed a few tube amps with my KPA rig ;). Made a believer of some long time tube heads who now have Kemper too.
I think the delays and reverbs on the Kemper were really good. They had a really sweet organic warmth to them. Modulation was hit or miss though.
The reverbs and delays were upgraded significantly from the original firmware. The legacy engines are still in there so your old rigs don't change from release to release, but I have mostly removed them from my old rigs and replaced the efx with the new engine ones.

CKemper posted that there would be a new modulation engine in the future as well, but that it was planned after the delay engine update and the reverb engine update. Recently, the tremelo engine was updated (which I don't think was mentioned ever before). Also, I think the firmware team got side-tracked with the release of the Kemper Player and unifying the firmware release.

I expect to see the modulation engine get as big an upgrade as the other engines did. Certainly sometime this year I would think.

I agree with others here that the modulation effects in the Kemper are weak.... especially compared to the ones in the Axe III Fx .... which are God-like.

Yeah Kemper, I played one for like 5 years, powered toaster with FC and I loved it. Until I got the FM3, it just sat there looking sad and eventually I sold it. I have tons of great profiles and would definitely pick up another for the right price just to go back and compare what I had then to what I have now.
