Externally, not much appears to have changed, however, 3 tidbits:

USB-C instead of B (although B is more sturdy)
Stereo phones out (older versions were mono)
Bluetooth MIDI / audio adaptor slot (another thing to buy)

Hopefully, there are some cool new GT/GTX amp models.

Actually, it was a good few years ago. Don't ask me how I know, lol

I just recently went on the "my amp is trash, let me research something else" phase . . .., only to go on and use said amp this past weekend and it sounded great.

HA! The MkI and MkII Katanas used COSM modeling, which is a generation behind the AIRD in the GT1000.
