No real biggie ... just taken-aback

I'm no longer in the Tonex [and NAM world]..... and aint going back ..... but I just saw a link to the Amalgam site ... had not looked for some time ..... and their latest packs are getting sooooo fucking expensive !!!! ... as in EURO $35 !!!! per Amp

Its getting really expensive to buy rare and vintage amps, all the studio gear, studio time etc. It's also a free market, so you can buy or not buy from whomever you want, at whatever prices make sense to you.

And there are still 10's of thousands of free captures...

I put together this emergency backup board based around the Tonex One and a Waveshare board I got off Amazon that I installed the Tonex OneControl software on and mounted on a meal prep container lid with Gaff Tape. It's on an old Nano board I had laying around. I'm powering it with a Jackery power bank I bought several years back. Ironically, the most expensive thing on there is the DI. Depending on the situation I sometimes need 3 separate sends FOH/IEM Rig/Wege, which is why I got the Canvas. The thing with the knob on it next to the Canvas is just a volume control for the send to my wedge.

I used this at a rehearsal a few days ago, and I have to admit that I can't tell the difference between the captures I made of the main amp sounds I use in my FM9 rig and the actual FM9... Until I turn the effects on... Lol. That said, the effects are passable enough to get me through a show or rehearsal and the core amp sounds are the most important thing to me anyway.

It's still not as bad as the douche-canoes charging $60 for a "preset pack" for Fractal/Line 6, because "I'll dialz stuf in real gud". Fucking absurd. At least captures/IR's takes real skill, and quality equipment.
