Just jamming though the new Tonex this morning using a new Capture of the Badlander and just the included FX in Tonex. Buddy, it sounds so good.
It can't be stated enough how much of an improvement the new Capturing process is and quality of the Captures are.
The standouts for me are:

The standouts for me are:
- Same method (pre-recorded, automated samples) for Capture creation. There's no inconsistency in the outcomes i.e. manual Kemper Refining process, and the fact that it's automated is just great. I know this isn't new but it's the way it should work, period.
- It's awesome that the new Capture is automatically added to Tonex and you don't have to do that manually. Thank you!
- Whoever had the idea to add the IR option to the Capture process needs a big fat pay raise.
- Inline editing of Metadata while Capture is being created. So nice.
- Batching of Captures. Welcome to modern software and hardware integration.
- Reduction in time. 3X (at least for me) faster and improved Capture quality. Incredible!

I’m trying to give Deftones another try, given the discussion here.
Sounds great, I’ll defo pick this up later.
Been quickly A/Bing some old Marshall caps vs some of the new ones on tonenet and they do seem to have more punch and more upper mid content. I was pretty skeptical but there does appear to be an improvement so I’m excited to try these out.

Not as a matter of 1:1 recaptures but i’ll likely go over the amps in more depth now as batch training makes it a lot easier

I just had such a salty experience trying to capture my 2204 with the Axe IO One. I need to do some isolation troubleshooting to confirm the hunch, but I’m experiencing a significant if not substantial timbral shift on the guitar hitting the Klon -> 2204. This is even beyond the Axe IO One’s supposed instrument level output level being anemic at best.
This feels like it’s more of an impedance issue or the kind of extreme tone suck you can experience from some old wah pedals where the midrange gets honky and the top end feels dead.
For those of you who are successfully making captures, how are you getting the input signal to your amps without destroying it?
I can take a run at it with my Quantum 2626 but the outs on that interface are all line level. I’ll need a line to instrument converter most likely. It seems really important that the impedance is correct hitting the amp.

Get yourself a Lehle P Split or any other decent reamp box.
With the lehle you’d get 18dBu coming out of the 2626 which would be very loud (you’d likely need to lower your input levels a fair bit to get it to unity). I’m not sure if it has a software mixer but if so you could drop the level on the way out 5dB or so if it does.

It's extremely close to instant. I haven't tried recording and zooming in on the waveform, but audibly, I don't notice a gap. On the OG Pedal, I think you need to change a setting to get the switches to work on press instead of release.
I’m getting curious about ToneX with all the positive things I’ve read about the latest update.
I already have my reamp levels and DI levels set at Helix Native levels. Can I expect these levels to be maintained when capturing without any or much tweaking? It’s been a while since I’ve looked into how ToneX works.
I’m used to working with NAM training, in which I can mindlessly reamp in the background.

As far as I can tell, it is the training process that changed and the captures look the same to the hardware.

I switched between 2 presets at practice last week during one of our songs, Kryptonite, to see what it would do and it switched between the beat and did not give out any "Clicks or Pops" or delay. I think that song is 90-100 BPM, so not sure on all that 200 BPM stuff you guys play
The only timing issue for the switch was the rhythm guitar player (me) the first 2 times going from the clean verse to the crunch in the chorus

I’m using the Axe IO One which handles the line to instrument level conversion going from the DAW to amp. I’m using the Suhr RL for the cab load.
The Axe IO actually has a great sounding input section, but their line -> instrument level conversion sucks. It’s underpowered and will fuck up your gain staging by never hitting the amp as hard as your guitar would straight in.
