I need a new tuner

If I’m looking at the tu-3 is the Waza worth it for the buffer/bypass?

First review here complains about super bright LEDs. That's an instant nope for me.

After using this tuner for some time in real life situations (gigs, studio, rehearsals) I've decided to lower my ratings considerably. The green middle LED is so much brighter than the adjacent blue LEDS that it completely overpowers them, It's very difficult to see the innermost blue LEDS when the green LEDS lights up because you are practically blinded by the extremely bright green LED. It's therefore difficult to see if you are in tune or slightly out of tune. This is a VERY flawed design. The regular (much cheaper) non-Waza model with the red LEDS is a lot better. Don't waste your money on this one!

I like the classic white TU design with nice red leds just fine.

Look for the positives...

You will now look forward to adjusting intonation.

You can easily explore multiple custom tunings.

Enjoy all the accumulated time saved due to instant note tracking.

Did any of that help? :rofl

Hahahah nope, but I appreciate the effort!

Turbo is the ONLY tuner to go to 1/50 cent and you can tell. It’s also the only tuner that I don’t feel the need to tweak the tuning after.
Nothing compares. The other “ strobe “ tuners are just fake displays with the exception of the big old Peterson. Don’t mistake their new crap.

You still need to tune before you start playing with that. I don’t care about marketing . Either you have never used one or you can’t hear it. 🤣
So you're saying you can hear a pitch difference of 1/50 of a cent, which is 1/5000 (0.02%) of a semitone?

I don't envy people with that kind of pitch hearing the intro of "Glory Days" by Springsteen when it comes up randomly on spotify . :rofl

What should I buy?

I’ve started to hate this little Korg mini I’ve got on my board. It’s what I plug into, and I use it as a mute and with its small size and the way you can’t really get Velcro on the bottom it’s always shifting around. I need something full size
I just posted about ordering a floor tuner i didn't need. What i ordered was a donner and it doesn't seem substantial, sizewise, and you may have just pointed out a future problem i may be having. I can't recommend any for floor but my favorite tuner is a korg if I remember correctly that takes a single triple AAA battery. I bought a second for backup. They have held up nicely but made
for mounting on headstock. I can check model when I get home if you like.

Yes and in the right context you would hear it too.

I think most tuners at this point are pretty sufficient. Even if you get a tuner that can be super duper accurate, the tuning machines and strings have to accommodate that accuracy. Not all are equal. Then you have to deal with intonation. It's all a balance act and each instrument is unique.
This is why I say most modern tuners are sufficient.

I'm just trying to be the voice of reason here! :grin

If you aren't tone deaf, a tuning fork is sufficient. I still have the one I got with my first guitar, but I would never chose to use it when I have a Turbotuner handy. I want to get in tune as accurately and quickly as possible, so I can move on to playing. There is no reason to futz around with something that is sufficient when you can have excellence for a similar price.

Yep, and they still pale in comparison to one that is excellent.

If you seta PolyTune, a StroboStomp, and a TT in front of me, I am reaching for the TT because it is simply a better tool with a better user experience. Why settle?
