HX Stomp appreciation

But OG Stomp with the actual stuff one really wants is more customizable and changeable to situations. Wich makes any cost worth it as it can be considered cheaper or more expensive than a LT depending on situation. And it still holds it size. The low hanging fruit requires its space in a different way, more difficult and cumbersome to integrate. But that’s only my opinion of course!

IIRC; I think that sort of full power Stomp XL is going to be borked by the user interface requirements/screen real estate discrepancy between what is there and what would be needed to represent the full signal chain. Among 173 other things I am sure.

The Stomp could possibly have enough juice to allow for two completely independent, yet filled signal paths. That'd allow for quite some more things and would perhaps still be manageable on the current display.

Imo full dsp Stomp/XL never made sense. A tiny bit more, yes. But full LT/Floor dsp nope.

Because they decided not to take a modular path, with HX labeled peripheral boxes (switches, external ui etc etc) instead the ingenuity of the form factor decided that other pedals and external devices from other brands would actually sell more stomps, and relieve L6 from the gigantic nightmare of designing external stuff that is unique for Stomp.

But meh… pfft… I have no saying in all this because yall know im a third timer and cursed for life.

I’m out.

Slam the door on my back because I will pause for a while in the doorway and look back over my shoulder with a tiny hint of sadness in my left eye but not make eye contact (because of shame). And you won’t hear me leaning against the door with only the ear, and the ear hurts from pressing it against the door but im holding my breath in case you all would hear me there when I actually know in my mind that you can see my feet under the door gap against the floor.

Two stomps gives you two dsps...show me all your 64 block presets that wouldn't run on that...go!

Line 6 could be the first manufacturer to add a hdmi jack to a pedal! :rofl

We used to play Hot Stuff
Donna Summer but took out all the keys and did it with a wah or octave into hi gain amps and did the Rythm like an Iron Maiden gallop
I’m not sure why, but this is one of the funniest goddamn things I’ve ever read.

Stomp is rad. Not keen on the modeling after several attempts to work with it but that’s fine. I’m not interested in amp modelling anyway. It’s the best sounding most useful multi fx unit I’ve had. One might ask why not just get the hxfx in that case, but it’s too big and I’m still running a board with other “real” pedals and the stomp form factor is perfect for me. I guess having access to the amp modeling is neat and I have some presets setup for a back up instance if an amp ever failed live so there’s some peace of mind there too

My stomp has been lonely since I got my LT. But it will never get sold. I really think it’s the greatest pedal ever made.

But the LT opened up so many options that it’s hard to go back.

I bought the LT because it’s cheaper and way more practical than building a pedalboard around the stomp. But part of me still has a pedals are cooler than all in ones complex so I might end up building the stomp pedalboard anyway.

I’m using my stomp these days mostly as a multi fx as well. At one point I had a hxfx, but it was too big and despite having more foot switches, just didn’t seem very nimble. Much preferred the Boss ms3 to the hxfx.

Fun fact: I sold the Floor to go back to a largely pseudo-analog hybrid setup, using the Stomp for FX only (basically even just spatial FX), but with my latest setup things went kinda upside down, I'm now using it for amps and dirt pedals only.
Working absolutely well either way, which obviously also goes to prove what a flexible thing it is.
