HX Stomp appreciation

Not a trace of buyer's remorse for me with the HX Stomp. I honestly consider it to be my best purchase ever. It's a keeper, and should it ever fail, it'll be going up on the wall as a 3-D example of industrial design mastery.

That's not to say that it's perfect. For example, when will Line6 be porting the MIDI CC# 128 feature across to the Stomp from the Floor? I need it. Badly. View attachment 34283
Helix Floor/Rack/LT also got CC128 in 3.80. I'm glad our manual writer changed it; my original callout might've have been a tad... provocative.

Hey, didn't you invent the TM'd catchphrase? :rofl

I'm so goddamn glad I don't have to play that fucking song anymore. I cannot overstate how mind numbingly boring and soul-sucking, playing that song is.

The fact that ALL the women STILL love it, sing along to it, and pack the dance floor when it's on, might even make it worse, lol.
Laughs in 70% of our setlist :nails
Any you guys play the Flashdance song too, "What A Feeling" ?
No offense if you did/do but I'd have to shoot myself first. :rofl
I kinda wanted to try it when our band first got together and was still in a "let's do a disco tribute" mindset :whistle

The thing is, using a stomp, because why not!!! would proudly and honorably remove any feelings of stupidity and embarrassing inner feelings about playing flash dance or any other subjectively embarrassing cover song. Because it can probably fucking do it. With grandeur!

Stomp XL is the goat form factor

Once I am outside of the OG Stomp size; the advantage it has of being the only to truly get it as far as packing the biggest punch in a small package is gone. Then the GT1000 becomes the GOAT form factor imo.
I'd probably have to agree with you, somewhat, but the capacitive switches, snapshots, blah blah, and the XL is still smaller than a 1000 . . . (you can use a mini exp pedal, etc)

If the XL had an ISOLATED, (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, HELIX FLOOR ), EXT AMP control, it would absolutely destroy EVERYTHING even close to it.

Pfft…

“Low hanging fruit” (you said it Eric)

OG stomp is the magic. No matter what kind of controllers and switches and pedals surrounds it. It was meant to be that thing, the thing that is surrounded by other things, no matter what the things are.

If Stomp XL had the same juice as the full size floor units (and the ext amp control); I'd award it form factor GOAT.

A Stomp XL with full processing power. Isn't it about at used LT prices anyway? Could you make a valid business argument for it? I bet you could if you priced it at it's regular $749 price

But OG Stomp with the actual stuff one really wants is more customizable and changeable to situations. Wich makes any cost worth it as it can be considered cheaper or more expensive than a LT depending on situation. And it still holds it size. The low hanging fruit requires its space in a different way, more difficult and cumbersome to integrate. But that’s only my opinion of course!
